Every time I visit my mother, I always feel welcome from the moment I walk in. The staff is friendly, kind, and helpful, and they create a warm environment for both residents and families. It gives me peace of mind knowing my mother is surrounded by people who care and make visitors feel comfortable. I truly appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and the care shown to her. Highly recommend!

I have been a resident at Brentwood, since October, for rehabilitation after having knee replacement surgery, and two subsequent surgeries on the same knee. I chose Brentwood because I was the resident 2 years ago, after having major back surgery, again for rehabilitation and nursing care. The fact that I came back to the Brentwood a second time, should tell you what this facility is truly about. The nursing staff and aides are wonderful! Even though there are times when everyone is very busy, they always find the time to address your needs. The nurses always find time to answer any questions you have, taking the time to explain to your satisfaction. They are also very kind and caring, and they truly try to understand what people are going through. The nursing supervisor on the first floor, Eleisha, is exceptional! She makes herself available to the residents of this unit at any time. There doesn't seem to be any problem too big or too small, that she will not try to solve. I really cannot say enough about the nursing staff here. I have received and still am receiving physical therapy and occupational therapy. The staff in physical therapy are amazing! More often than not, I work with Ryan, for occupational therapy, and he is exceptional at what he does. He excels in his role, using humor, kindness, and a touch of inspiration, to push you past what you never thought possible. That's not to say, that the girls, Ann Marie, Kerri, Ann, and Marina, are any less amazing. They too, give you the confidence to push through the pain, and work hard to achieve your goals. The administrative staff are always available to be of assistance with any issue, at most any time. To say that my experience at Brentwood has been very positive, is not saying enough. I have to say, it has been a pleasure working with our past administrator, J.T., and our current administrator, Kaylee. They have an open door policy, making it easy to reach them, should there be a need to discuss any matter. In closing, I would just like to say that my stay at Brentwood, is going to be extended, due to an upcoming surgery, and I know that I will receive excellent care!!! I have been here at Brentwood for 6 months and absolutely love the staff and the care I receive. I have been treated with respect and like a family member since my first day here. I am so grateful that I was brought here from the hospital to receive rehabilitation. The nurses are caring and treat you with dignity and respect, along with the nurses aides. Eleisha, who is a day shift supervisor, has gone above and beyond to help me with any situation I need help with or if I just have questions to ask. Upper management is always available to lend an ear and give support when needed. I recommend anyone come to Brentwood when they need rehabilitation or a nursing facility for their loved ones.

I may want to give zero stars if I could. It's still early. My mother has been there for 2 days. I read reviews before she was admitted to the facility and was excited to know that she was going to a facility that came highly recommended and skilled. My mother is there for rehab and is an alert and oriented, independent woman outside of having the most recent need for surgery. Over the last couple of days she has become increasingly confused. Today she called me at 5am and was very confused, hallucinating and trying to get out of bed. After I spoke to her and calmed her down, I attempted to call the nursing station/supervisor about 4 times and couldn't reach anyone on my mother's unit. I was told there is no nursing supervisor at night and when the phone rings, it rings to the whole facility and anyone could pick it up. Because of the time of day 5am (apparently) the staff may have been passing meds and no one was picking up the phone when I tried to reach the rehab unit after being transferred multiple times. I actually had to pass a message to a nurse on another unit to tell them basically that this was an emergency as my mother is trying to get out of bed and is at risk of falling. Would you rather her fall and have injury in your facility or is there someone who can get the message to the unit? ..and luckily there was a male nurse from another unit that walked to go and check on her and alert the staff. What I didn't expect was a call back to follow up with me which is what he did and I commend him for that. But otherwise, there has to be a better way of communicating and why is there not a supervisor or someone available to speak to at night that oversees the staff. Again, still early in her rehab stay but a very distasteful incident. I also left a message on the voicemail of the Director of Nursing. I am hoping for follow up.

My mom was just admitted today. But both my sisters, my brother, & all 3 of my daughters have worked in rehabilitation centers. So we will be brutally honest with you. Honestly it was difficult to find front door. But once in, I found it cleaner than the hospital and multiple rehabs I have been to. Every staff member I met were friendly, great bedside manner and seemed to honestly enjoy answering a bunch of questions. esp bc agh was not great with some of there notes & were not accurate. They felt my mom could advocate for herself but she gets nervous and just tells you what she thinks you want to hear, & doesn’t always remember what she is told. She also should have hear aides but she refuses,,, so if she answers your question with something not on topic, just ask her what did she thinks you asked her … I was really glad I was still there when OT came for an eval, she was nice informative,, great bedside manner!!, so after the questionnaire, she was gonna get my mom up and walk. I told her about the incident’s where her blood pressure dropped (60/41in bed at rest) and her O2 dropping.I expressed how myself and my siblings do not agree that the low 90s is her baseline ( or safe for her right now) so we feel she needs oxygen while walking or eating that there should be like a PRN or order in there and also she really needs a nebulizer before meals because she gets short of breath when she’s eating & just stops eating. She needs to eat. I also told her my mom base line was 97-99%O2,,,, and bp 116/ 73,,, if I average it out over past year before she got sick & hospitalized. & that when PT, did a rest & exercise last night her bp & O2 dropped while walking. It did come back up after/during rest,,OT lady was so thankful I was there and went and got bp cuff to check along with O2… & which I had to leave,, but seeing the OT understand and taking the precautions that help my mom not get anxious, (which would throw the results off) & let me leave/be on time without worry,,,, at agh I never felt comfortable enough that safety precautions were used during some of my mom’s stay. I do hope I have a chance to do another eval after my mother‘s discharge. I do have faith that you guys are going to help my mom be comfortable doing stairs again even if it means that she’s gonna have to use O2 to be able to do it.
