It has taken me 1 year to finally write this review. My father Fred Terry was a resident at this facility. He suffered with Alzheimer’s and became some what difficult after being at Caryle Senior Center of Florence and contracting COVID. My dad suffered and was given the worse care I ever could have imagined. The employees and residents stole his belongings down to his shoes. I would have to come give my dad showers and I would take his laundry home (whatever he had left) to wash. The facility had bedbugs (they have been treating)…I would clean his room every Saturday when I visited. The last straw was when I came to visit, I gave him his shower got him dressed. My sister and myself took his clothes to the laundry mat in Bishopville so we could be close by to bring him his favorite, fried chicken…before leaving the facility I was asked by a tech if I could bring his meds from home because they could not find his meds. I told her I would, but I needed to do his laundry first. As finishing, I received a call from the tech she said they had to call the police because he started fighting (know my dad esp after having COVID he became more combative) but he didn’t have his meds all day soooo…the police came and and when we pulled up at the facility they already had my dad in the back of the police vehicle as the deputy was bragging about how him and the other deputy slammed my dad to the ground to subdue him. They would not let us see him. My sister then had to take over because I was definitely in my feelings. The activity director would not explain to the Duluth that he had Alzheimer’s “she claimed that she did not know his diagnosis “ which was truly a lie, she could have went in and got his medical info but because he was difficult, they wanted him gone. Needless to say, they took him to jail on a Saturday and had to sit in jail all weekend with a urine soaked diaper and no meds whatsoever. When the judge asked him his name he couldn’t tell or write. The charges were dropped. He was taken to the Tumi Hospital in Sumter where we learned he had a fractured left thumb and a few days later ma he suffered a seizure and never was the same again. He was walking and talking the beginning April and in August he was deceased…I know the disease was going to take him but Bishopville Manor and Lee county deputies helped him along his way. I’ve learned a lot during this process. Please take care of your business as far as saving for your future so you don’t have to end up in places like this due to finances. This is for people wondering why I didn’t take him home. I had him with me for 2yrs with little help. I worked a full time job while taking care my husband and young child and I had taken him from 1 other facility in the past. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.

We came here for a Christmas event and enjoyed ourselves. The facility didn’t smell, it was clean and the residents were happy. Nice job new guys!
