They are a really good facility. They take really good care of my Mom (who has suffered a stroke.) She is always clean. They get her out of bed everyday (dressed/in a wheelchair) to go outside to the court yard. When you ring the nurse bell they are there in 5min. (The court yard pic attached.)

Read my review of my father's experience with Berkshire then decide for yourself if Berkshire is right for your loved one. Please note: From what I can see Berkshire hasn't even responded to any of the reviews. Very disturbing! Sam Wercberger is the lead Admin on site and, in my observations and dealings with him, he is selfish, arrogant and disinterested in doing what's best for the patients and facility. In one particular meeting with Sam and other supervisory staff, he was more focused on his phone then the issue of my father's safety. I actually had to asked him to be present in the meeting. He never apologized or participated. There were also other times I had dealt with him, but in an informal situation (hallway) and it was so obvious by his face and his body language that he wasn't concerned and just wanted to get away from me and the conversation. I reached out via email to him and wouldn't you know, when I went to follow up with him, he blocked me from sending emails to Berkshire. A real disgrace. Since I was not getting anywhere with Wercberger I reached out to corporate and spoke with Barry Breskin. He too turned out to be a huge disappointment. When we first started communicating, he pretended to be very concerned and said he wanted to make things right. It was phony and I saw right through it, but my mission was on conditions to keep my father safe, so, as nauseating as it was, I went along with it. I explained the issues with Sam and other safety concerns. We talked a few times and then when I asked to have a site meeting with him and site administration, I never heard from him again. He too stopped returning calls and answering my emails which confirmed that he too doesn't care. Very unprofessional! My father experienced several falls from his wheelchair and from his bed. These incidents prompted ongoing conversations and meetings with me and the the nursing staff, charge nurses, doctors, social workers and administrators about ways to ensure his safety and to keep us informed of ALL incidents as soon as they happen, no matter what time of day or night. They never kept their word! Sadly, most of the incidents we learned about were from his roommate. I went to visit my father one morning and found him unresponsive and struggling to breathe. They put him on oxygen, but that wasn’t helping. His skin had a grayish hue and he was extremely bloated. I checked with the nurses' station and they couldn't give me an answer. When I asked what the doctor's evaluation was, I was told no doctor had seen him and he wouldn’t be seen until the nurse practitioner came in at 9am, which means he laid there without a doctor’s evaluation or advanced care for 10 hours! The NP evaluated him and said he was not good and that we had to make some serious decisions regarding care. His condition was so bad that they weren’t expecting him to recover, so social work spoke with Hospice. We asked why weren’t we called and why wasn't he taken to a hospital to get proper testing and monitoring? They said nothing. Why did it take 10 hours for a doctor to evaluate him and allow him to lie there in that state? We should have been called to decide if we wanted him to go to the ER, but they took that opportunity away from us and God only knows what affect this neglect had on his physical and cognitive state. Within 2 days or so, he became responsive and started to improve. Regardless, we were furious that Berkshire allowed this to happen under their care and supervision, especially after we made it clear to contact us immediately when there was an issue. Once again they failed us and didn't care. I truly believe I was not called with this particular incident or the numerous times he fell, etc. because if they had called, there would be a record. Since this record could hold them liable for neglect for not providing a safe environment, it's easier and safer for them to say we forgot to call and it becomes your word against theirs. Absolutely disgusting.

My father in law is there for rehab. Facility is beautiful, renovated, clean…smelled like lemons! Very accommodating from admissions to PT, Social worker and dietician. We were welcomed by a lot of staff! Father in law likes to eat well and said food was very good! Can’t wait to see the progress he will make in this positive environment!

This is a great rehab center with a caring staff. The PT crew with Angie, as my wife's personal therapist, was able to get her back on track after her injury. The OT staff worked with her as well and the aides were amazingly helpful. Tracy and Nerline gave her excellent care and the RN, Mark, was always there when needed. Overseen by Carolyn, the nursing and PT staff are a fine tuned team. THANK YOU ALL!!!!

as my third family member makes their appearance at Berkshire for rehabilitation, i don’t have enough kind words to say about the staff. they are so involved and so caring it amazes me. life’s never easy when you need to make this decision but my family knows Berkshire was the best choice we’ve ever made to heal our loved one. the facility is always so clean and smells fantastic, we’re looking forward to a speedy recovery this time just like the last few times were :)
