My mother has great care. She is bathed fed medication given and I feel she is safe . The staff is always available to answer questions and update me on everything going on with her .

My mother transferred to Berks Heim in February 2026 after a very poor experience with another local facility. Our family has been very pleased with the cleanliness of the facility and the very attentive, friendly staff. Her room is comfortable and she enjoys interacting with the staff and other residents. We visit her frequently and have not noticed any concerns. We highly recommend Berks Heim to future residents!

My parents have a friend who is currently in this nursing home and the Care is horrible. This man cannot get up and take care of his own hygiene needs, and he has been left to sit in his own urine and feces for hours even though nurses have been called. His wife (who is a constant presence and advocate for him) made several complaints with making no difference at all. Bed sores are a common issue. These patients are not being rotated enough. They are under staff. The nursing aids don’t listen to the patients and when you use the call bell it consistently takes over 20 minutes for someone to respond. This gentleman is also on dialysis and is provided transport from the home to the dialysis center, and in the middle of the winter they sent him out in shorts and a shirt short sleeved shirt no jacket provided! When he came back from Dialysis, and if you know anything about Dialysis, you’re weak afterward I know this from own personal experience , the transport people wheeled him into the front door, where he asked a staff member to help wheel him to his own room and the staff member blatantly said no. DO NOT go buy reviews that you see on here go to the place yourself talk to the patients then you’ll know their experience. Talk to the family members then you understand their experience as well.

My mother came to Berks Heim for rehab in November after a fall. She had been in a personal care facility and not very happy. We were hoping she would like it there and want to stay since she was unhappy and we felt she needed more care than she was receiving. To our surprise she asked to stay long term. While no care facility is perfect, its not the same as being independent and living on your own, Berks Heim is full of very caring and attentive staff, provides a lot of activities and the food is good (this coming from a very picky eater). The nurses keep you updated of any changes and the entire team is accessible when you have questions or need something.

Great Facility and staff! My mother has been at Berks Heim for over 2 years and the care she receives is wonderful. It is not easy to put a loved one in a nursing home - not easy for them or for you, but the care my mother receives at Berks Heim gives me peace of mind. The Nurses provide excellent care and very thorough with communication, and the aids show a lot of compassion towards the residents, and they have very little turnover. They have a tough and demanding job! There are activities, music events and church services that keep her involved. She also receives great care with physical and occupational therapists when needed. Berks Heim is super clean and never has a funky smell. I feel we are so lucky in Berks County to have this Nursing Care.
