About Bell Minor Home

Bell Minor Home is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Gainesville, Georgia, licensed for 104 residents. The community provides both rehabilitation and ongoing nursing care.

Family experiences at Bell Minor are deeply divided. Several families report genuine attentiveness: staff making proactive calls about minor health changes, FaceTiming relatives, and delivering compassionate care during recovery stays. One family noted their father completed 100 days of physical therapy with "exceptional" staff who "treated all of his needs." However, other families describe serious gaps in basic care and responsiveness—including patients waiting in pain while call buttons went unanswered and, in one case, a resident not bathed or showered for over three weeks despite contrary facility records. These conflicting accounts suggest inconsistency in day-to-day operations and staff attentiveness across the facility.

Bell Minor Home holds a 3 out of 5 rating based on 31 Google reviews. Families considering the community should expect variability in care quality and may want to ask specific questions about staffing protocols, response times to patient requests, and hygiene routines during tours.

Both of my parents live at Bell Minor. These nurses are so caring and patient. Even the front office people treat my parents like family. The vast majority of people at Bell Minor do whatever they can to make their patients happy. I get calls from the nursing staff for anything that happens with my parents, even a little rash. They are very attentive to patients. They even FaceTime me so my parents can see me if they need to. The facility is always clean. My mother has dementia and is deaf. She's extremely difficult to deal with. The nurses are wonderful to her. I don't know how they are so sweet. They are understaffed but they work extremely hard for these patients. I'm so thankful for these angels. I thank God for their kindness and their hearts.

My uncle was transferred here right from a hospital due to being hit by a truck, resulting in multiple broken bones requiring physical therapy. He sat in pain for over ten minutes, only needing minor adjustments to relieve the pain, and even though he was hitting his call button, he was being ignored by staff. When asked why he wasn't set up after transfer, the nurse Diana Roberts, LPNs response was "I'm in the middle of med pack, (what does that mean) and he was transferred over during meal time so he'll just have to wait til I get there". Which of course revoked a decent rude response back. I went and got his belongings, while my mom got him set up properly the way he should have been when he 1st arrived. Took less than 10 minutes. I guess the staffing didn't like that because they came to try and take over and nurse Brooks response was "Being rude doesn't help the situation and u ain't getting nothing done with an attitude like that". Honey if u or ur upper nurse had done ur job in the first place, which would have only taken 10 minutes that u chose to ignore him for, he would have passed out and left u alone for the rest of the night along with us leaving for the hotel for the night. But nah, u wanna see attitude, I'm sitting my happy butt down beside him and not leaving til I speak to ur administration tomorrow. Along with calling the health department and the Mayor. This place is unacceptably dirty with ants, with proven rude uncaring nurses. The way these beds r booked up, and the prices they charge, this nursing home should be cleaned, and better taken care of than the way the inside of this place looks. I've also spoken with a couple of patients here. One spoke of having a broken air conditioner in their room and another lady walked up to me and asked if my uncle had an extra pad for her bed. Found out she needs a sheet for her bed and when I went to approach a nurse, the patient said the nurses know and don't care, and asked for me not to say anything due to them yelling at her after. Avoid any personal placement here.

This place is awful in my opinion. They didn't bathe or shower a loved one for over three weeks, yet their records didn't reflect that fact. Rehab is nothing compared to other facilities in my opinion. We pulled our loved one out and moved them to Life Care Lawrenceville. The difference was ASTOUNDING. Personally, I would not leave a dead dog at Bel Minor.

I have to say I was nervous when my mom went to go to the rehab in Bell Manor. But After being there for a few weeks I saw a lot of progress. They were very detailed and caring in the home. They called and gave me updates. to the day I took mom home. Now, mom is home and better then before she went in. I would recommend this place for sure. Thanks to everyone at Bell manor.

Dad was there for 100 days for physical therapy. The staff and therapist at Bell Minor was exceptional. They valued us and him and treated all of his needs. During the time there we meet and made long time friends that we will always cherish. Our family would like to thank all of the staff there for everything and going over and beyond to make his stay a great experience. The Garrett family
