If you are considering this place, do not pay attention to any reviews more than a few months old because BEO is new and the old company was much better.
The location is great and the grounds are nice because it was designed by the former owners. When it was Steeplechase, it was far better. Grounds were maintained and there was clear pride in the upkeep. Now it is awful.
Previously, staff stayed for years, and seemed happy with management. The former maintenance man knew how to fix things and was very helpful. Now staff turnover is very high, the new maintenance staff is wildly inexperienced, and complaints go unanswered.
I would say this biggest downfall is the food. These residents have nowhere else to go but the dining room, and the food is terrible. When it was Steeplechase, we enjoyed eating in the dining room. Now they serve cold boiled hot dogs, cold french fries, and call it a dinner. You will be able to make an informed decision once you have both a lunch and a dinner here.
We bring dinners over at least 5 times a week because the meals are so bad. I know many residents don't have family nearby to do this and they just go hungry. This is unacceptable and I would characterize it is as elder abuse.

Don’t Move Here! Although this place was decent four years ago, it has changed management several times. All of the residents and most of the employees are complaining. Many residents have moved and employee turnover is high. Maintenance is being neglected. Worst of all is the food. Think of a typical school lunch and then lower your expectations. Dinner might consist of a corn dog and a salad.

We toured this facility with our father, and unfortunately, we were very disappointed with what we saw. When we got off the elevator, the carpet was stained and looked very dirty. There were also buckets on the floor catching water from leaks. The hallway was extremely hot, so we asked one of the residents about the temperature. He told us that the air conditioning in the hallway had not been working for approximately five weeks. This was especially concerning given the potential for moisture and mold growth. The resident also advised that the food was poor and that residents were given very few choices. Based on our experience and what we observed during the tour, we would not recommend this facility to anyone considering it for a family member.

Highly recommend! We enjoyed touring this facility and felt very comfortable with the experience. Nicole was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and helped my mother feel right at home.

I have a family member that is here. I am very unhappy with the food lately. They do not have very many choices of food. We had members from out of town come and eat, and they too did not think the food was good at all. We were embarrassed. We were also embarrassed how terrible the carpet looks in the main dining room and in the hallways. They need to get a good chef and work on the appearance inside. We do think the front desk workers and driver are very nice. They have lots activities during the week.
