About Baxter Health Home Health

Baxter Health Home Health is a home health and hospice provider serving Cotter, Arkansas. The agency delivers skilled nursing, physical therapy, and hospice care to patients in their homes.

Family experiences with Baxter have been decidedly mixed. Some families praise specific clinical staff, particularly nurses, for exceptional, attentive care and genuine concern for patient wellbeing. Physical therapy staff also drew positive comments. However, multiple families report serious operational and management issues: unexpected service cancellations due to understaffing, staff not returning to resume care, and a directive leadership style that families describe as authoritative and dismissive of patient requests. One family noted that good providers "are limited and fearful due to authoritative and threatening" management. These concerns appear to create friction between care quality at the clinical level and consistency at the organizational level.

Baxter Health Home Health holds a 2.8 out of 5 Google rating based on 9 reviews. Prospective patients and families may want to discuss specific staffing and care continuity expectations before enrolling.

I first came into contact with Baxter Home Health when I started in home care giving in August of 2025. Since then I’ve seen countless nurses every single week, sometimes multiple times a week. This review isn’t to take away from the amazing nurses that I’ve had the privilege to meet, but to highlight the extraordinary nurse that Baxter has on staff. Casey is beyond exceptional. Not only for her sense of humor as she is always making us laugh, but her expertise. She always has an answer for us, even if that means she needs a second to get it. She doesn’t have an ego and is always willing to accept new information and correct any misinformation, as well all know medical care is always advancing. She’s such a breath of fresh air, a welcome face any day she graces the doorway, very knowledgeable, and extremely caring. You can tell she cares because that’s who she is as a person, not because shes paid to. Also, a special shoutout to Stephanie! If Casey can’t make it, we are always excited to see her! Neither of these amazing ladies have ever rushed us, made us feel like there is somewhere else they need to be, and they answer every question with the same enthusiasm as when we asked them the same question last time. Just wonderful wonderful women and nurses! (Every staff member we have encountered has been nothing but great, just these ladies stand out).

At first care was good. Recieved a call that they were greatly understaffed and couldn't see me, on my usual day so they weren't coming that week! Then they never came back. So, I guess I would have to rate them the same as Baxter Regional. ONE STAR is being kind!!! Update: I am LOL. 5 days ago I posted this and called these people to see if they needed back unused supplies and their book. Told the lady that answered what happened and what they had done. Today (week later) I get a call stating they want another session so they can put my discharge in my records. (AFTER THEY DROPPED ME LIKE A HOT ROCK) so sorry your records are incomplete...but there better not be anything in the chart about me refusing services cause I (Being an NURSE for 28 years) have no problem reporting someone for falsifying medical records. You guys failed me not the other way around. Will keep you'll updated after I get a copy of my records and notes from them. Choose a home health care service that is competent and caring, cause this isn't it.

Glad to know Director (Janey PUGSLEY) does not work directly with patients. She is uncaring & short tempered. Any request for supplies or medical care she does not understand is met with intimidating comments to both employees and patients. Some providers are very good but are limited and fearful due to authoritative and threatening director.

Out of years of experience dealing with home health.... The physical therapy people that came out were great. The others just wanted to do as little as possible before leaving again. Every request or concern seemed to be "too much work" according to the director.
