WARNING: Melting Down Faster Than Chernobyl

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews of The Barclay House of Stuart. QSL Management Senior Living bought the previously named Symphony at Stuart facility in June 2026, rechristened it The Barclay House of Stuart, promptly gutted all three meal menus, and services—particularly food—have been in free fall ever since. The residents are paying exorbitant rates and yet basics like corn flakes are running out and not being replaced for weeks at a time.

Of greater concern, and potential liability to #QSLM, they've been forcing the elderly residents to stand in buffet lines (unheard of until now) with walkers and wheelchairs four times in the past month alone. Servers are allegedly there to help, but I've been present during two such occasions and no one was around: I served my family members and other residents unable to hold a flimsy paper plate and maintain their balance simultaneously.

Breaking a hip in your golden years can be fatal.

Furthermore, the facility continues to allow dogs but none of the bins has been emptied in a month. Let's not even talk about how they stripped the minibus wrap and spray-painted it grey. Yes, spray paint. You might scoff and say that this is a small thing; however, these are all indicators of greater dysfunction. The one positive note is that they kept on the wonderful front-desk and activities staff during this transition.

Regardless, if you love your parents or grandparents (or self), and wish for them to thrive, look elsewhere.

AWFUL. My MIL has resided in this community for almost 3 years and is currently in Memory Support. Since the management change, I am horrified at the standard of care. She has been overdosed on meds once, and more recently, she isn’t getting her meds at all!! I’m finding pills on tables in her room, although her care plan specifically addresses needing to watch her take all medications. I found several maintenance issues in her room, found her in dirty clothes, clothing that didn’t even belong to her stuffed in her dresser, urine soaked clothing and throw rugs strewn in the bathroom, and without the pull ups she was supposed to be wearing. When I asked for the supervisor on a Sunday, I was told by several staff that “no one was in charge” come to find out on Monday morning that in fact there is currently no Executive Director and No Director in Memory Care. A change in management should never compromise patient care and what I found this weekend was deplorable. For what we are paying this is entirely unacceptable.

Can’t say enough good things! My mom has been here for a few years. Staff is amazing. Food is great. Lots of activities. Great health practitioners. If I could give a million stars I would! Mom is so happy!

Maintain continuous conversation with your elderly loved ones. Poor treatment can happen very easily in a lot of places. This one is no exception

I cannot say enough good things about this community and the staff that make it exceptional. Mom is happy, healthy, the food is wonderful, activities, caring people, cleanliness, attention to detail. Everyone goes above and beyond! Izaik is exceptional in his role, so is Josh. I also love Stephanie, Faland, Natasha and Cherene. They all strive to make it a great place. The proof is also there. They recently won the award for best in senior living. I haven’t come across one staff member that I didn’t like. That’s pretty rare! I was so scared at the beginning. Everyone welcomed us w open arms and made us feel like family. If you want only the best, inquire about this place. You will be very glad you did! I’d give it 100 stars if I could.
