It is such a difficult decision to place a parent with dementia in a care facility. When we could no longer provide our mother with the care she needed and deserved, the heart-breaking search began. We quickly discovered all options were not equal when it came to taking care of Mom. Finding great leadership and a loving care team is such a relief! So is working with a competent caring business manager you can trust. It was a huge load off our shoulders when we found Avista Sun City West. We are very happy to be part of the Avista family and continue to be impressed with the level of care, opportunities for Mom, loving staff, and strong leadership dedicated to insuring all residents have a great life. A heart-felt big thanks to the entire Avista team!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Avista Sun City West Memory Care. The way my family and I were treated was very unprofessional and upsetting, especially during such an emotional and difficult time.<br><br>Before moving my dad in, we were told certain things that gave us confidence in choosing this facility, but after he was there, many of those promises were not followed through with. Changes were made without proper communication or notice, and it felt like our concerns as a family were not being respected or heard.<br><br>One of the biggest concerns was the pressure we felt to switch my dad to a hospice company that the facility preferred, even though we already had a hospice provider we trusted and wanted to continue with. During that process, we feel they took advantage of our family’s emotional state and the difficult situation we were facing to push for a decision that aligned with what they wanted rather than what our family believed was best for my dad.<br><br>Another concern was our interactions with Melissa and Jackie. We found their behavior to be hostile, aggressive, and lacking the compassion and professionalism that families deserve during such a difficult time. Rather than feeling supported, we often felt intimidated and dismissed when trying to advocate for my dad’s care and express our concerns.<br><br>We were also uncomfortable with the approach of keeping my dad heavily medicated. We expected compassion, honesty, communication, and respect for our family’s wishes, but unfortunately that was not our experience.<br><br>Families place tremendous trust in memory care facilities when caring for their loved ones. We expected the care, transparency, and respect that was promised when we chose this facility. Instead, our experience left us feeling frustrated, unheard, and disappointed. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve communication, professionalism, and respect for residents and their families.

I recently toured the cottages at this community. The staff were friendly and the residents were well cared for. One was actually able to move their friendly dog in<br>as well. It warmed my heart to know that they could bring their dear friend along with them!

Avista Sun City West has great caregivers who care about the residents. They cared for my sister very well while she stayed there and the feeling there is that it’s more than just a job to care for the residents. The management staff all checked in throughout the day and treated us like family while we visited. Genuine professional environment is at Avista Sun City West.

Wonderful company with great leadership. The community actually cares and helps all in need .
