About Apara Autism Center - San Antonio

Apara Autism Center in San Antonio, Texas provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism. The center offers both center-based and in-home ABA services, with individualized treatment plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) based on initial and ongoing assessments.

The center delivers clinical outcomes and life skills training in a supportive, compassionate, and collaborative environment. Services include traditional ABA practices along with toileting, community, and parent training, and can provide support in feeding therapy. The center does not offer occupational or speech therapy but partners with outside providers to offer integrated access to those services. Therapy hours are individualized, ranging from 15 to 40 hours per week based on the child's current skills and needs, as determined after a clinician assessment.

Located at 1922 Dry Creek Way in the northern part of San Antonio near Stone Oak Park, the center is easily accessible from Loop 1604 and Highway 281. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time and currently has no waitlist. Once assessment is complete and insurance authorization is received, children can begin their program immediately.

Apara accepts most commercial insurance and Marketplace plans and is credentialed with Medicaid. The center offers courtesy verification of benefits as part of the intake process. Clinicians work with families to determine whether center-based care, which offers structured peer socialization and school preparation, or in-home therapy, which focuses on mastering daily routines in a natural setting, is best suited for each child.

This place is all about taking your hard earned cash. They will stall on the diagnosis process to see what assistance your child needs, they want additional medical information that should not be required and violates HIPAA, and ultimately they are not a mental health service versus taking money from autistic children that already have a rough life to begin.

My son has been receiving ABA therapy at Apara Autism Center – San Antonio for the past two years, and today is his last day. I am very grateful for everything this center has done for him. From the BCBAs to every RBT, the whole team has been professional, patient, and incredibly kind. We are not stopping services because of any problem with the center. Now that my son is 12, we decided that a full-day middle school program with strong special education and adaptive living skills support is the best next step for him. My son has made a lot of progress here, and we are very satisfied with the care and support he received. I highly recommend Apara Autism Center – San Antonio to any family looking for quality ABA therapy.

My daughter attended this center for just over 2yrs (from ages 3-5). The progress she made here has been remarkable. When she began she was non-verbal and very rigid in her ways. Throughout her time at this center she mastered PECs, began speaking, worked on potty training, increased her social skills, and became more independent overall. The staff at the SA location is wonderful! They are kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. I love that there are cameras everywhere, reporting/updates are provided daily, the BCBAs are very communicative and understanding, parent trainings are provided routinely, and my child was always happy to go “to school”. The only reason we left is because we moved out of state. I cannot say enough great things about this ABA therapy center. They treated my child with respect and kindness and challenged her in ways that helped her stay engaged and thrive. I will forever be grateful for the experience my daughter had at Apara. Thank you to Carie, Ivy, Lorena, Marie, Jana, Sasha, Jojo, and all the other RBTs and BCBAs who worked with our child. This place knows what they are doing, we highly recommend!
