Assisted Living on Broadway is a memory care community located in Littleton, Colorado, specializing in dementia and Alzheimer's care. The facility is locally owned and operated, with an RN Administrator on-site who manages day-to-day operations and oversees all medical complexities of dementia care.
The community maintains a 1:6 staff-to-resident ratio, significantly lower than the industry standard of 1:12 or 1:15, to ensure personalized engagement and proactive care. The facility can accommodate a total of 12 residents in a secured environment designed to reduce sensory overload, featuring single-story layout with large hallways, home-cooked meals, and a garden area. The RN-led approach prioritizes medication management, safety, and careful documentation of each resident's food and hydration intake, sleep patterns, moods, and behaviors.
Care includes tailored activities designed to encourage social interaction and preserve cognitive function, along with specialized training in managing common dementia behaviors such as wandering, sundowning, and resistance to hygiene care. Staff use gentle, non-confrontational techniques focused on building trust and maintaining dignity. The community emphasizes an "age in place" philosophy, working with local hospice agencies to provide end-of-life care so residents need not relocate as their condition progresses.
Residents are encouraged to bring familiar furniture, photos, and keepsakes to personalize their rooms, creating a home-like environment. Monthly rates include care services, meals, snacks, laundry, and housekeeping without hidden or escalating fees based on increasing care needs. The community accepts Long-Term Care Insurance and VA Aid & Attendance benefits, and considers Medicaid after a minimum of two years of private payment.

I am so grateful to Assisted Living on Broadway for the excellent care they gave my mother. She was on hospice when she arrived and lived another 15 months. Mom loved to walk and we were thrilled that she got a room at the end of the hall so she could have a longer distance to walk inside. When it became clear she was slowing down, the staff suggested moving her to a closer room which was just what she needed. The food was always amazing and I was shocked and delighted when Rose made a special Thanksgiving dinner for my family on Monday so we could celebrate with Mom before going out of town. The staff was thoughtful and took great care of Mom. When her hospice agency was not providing the care they should, Iren strongly suggested changing so Mom would have the best care when she would need it most. That was a recommendation I will always be grateful for and cannot thank the staff for always cherishing Mom while she lived there. I highly recommend this home for your loved one with dementia.

This care team was like family to my Mom. She was happy, engaged, loved, and appreciated. They totally got her quirky sense of humor and adored her for it. Meals and snacks were posted and healthy.

Since I lived near by, I would just drop in to visit because it was her home, just like I did in her Independent Living apartment. I was always welcome and usually greeted with a hug. If activities for the residents were planned the staff had me help out if I wanted (like art) or participate (like sing-alongs).

I worried that it was a big step to go from her apartment in a large assisted living community with a pool and activities to this smaller group home. But we were bringing in daily specialists to help with bathing and med-management. Eventually, we had to hire help to sit with her at meals because she’d only eat sweets and Diet Coke otherwise. Even with all that help it was more cost effective than moving her to Assisted Living in that community.

Besides, she didn’t want to move to AL because when she’d go to that floor to play bridge she said it was boring. “Those ladies are just not that sharp with their cards, Leslie.” However, the ladies in Independent Living kicked her out of bridge. Because, while Mom could still play well and usually win, her dementia was affecting her “civility,” they said. Apparently, a lady is not to gloat about winning at bridge!

There was nothing to worry about with the move. She settled in, the care team would play cards with her, cheer with her when watching The Price is Right, and ensure she ate well, took her meds, and went to bed on time. She liked the routines and rhythms of the days.

Mom’s conditions declined and she passed in January 2020, just as the world was going into pandemic lockdown. The team was so caring and communicative with me so that I could come by often while she was in hospice there. We all cried together when I kissed her goodbye in her bed surrounded by a lifetime of keepsakes, pictures, and love.

I wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone looking for a similar experience for their parent or loved one.

What a wonderful place for our father to get assisted living. All the residents were always happy, engaged involved. It was lovely. It’s an adjustment for everyone, but they make it so simple and for the cost unbelievable. The staff goes out of their way to help and keep everyone happy.

My mother resided at Assisted Living on Broadway for the past 18 months. She received excellent care from their professional, caring, and tireless staff. The facility was immaculately clean, and my mom looked nice every day. The smell from the kitchen always made the facility feel like home. The price was very reasonable, especially for the high level of care received. Recommended highly.
