I put Nana here about a year and a half ago. Hasn't bothered me since XD! Seems like they really know how to take care of the elderly haha!<br><br>pictures of Nana and me<br><br>Ever since the change of management back in November 2025, Aspen Valley has deteriorated tremendously. While the facility looks nice, it is dirty. I cannot recommend this place due to the significant safety and care concerns. Very poor management; rarely present; ignore complaints; constant staff shortages and turnovers.<br><br>Despite numerous reminders about soiled bedding, mismanagement of medications, lack of housekeeping and laundry services, etc...nothing was ever done about it!<br><br>Do not put your loved one here. The morale in this place is so low. Everyone walks around with such unhappy faces.

Don't put your family here they don’t take care of the people here if someone falls the nurse Lisa Schindele doesn't call the hospital just says there okay wich in return had a resident sitting there for at least three days eventually a employee took it in there own hands to call the hospital come to find out he had three broken ribs and fluid building in his lungs they pass medications late over 2hours late the employees leave medication in residents rooms without watching them take it the management gives no proper training or are not even around half the time i saw a employee drop a resident to the ground being to ruff with her trying to get her out of someone’s room the employees name is Rhonda the memory care side of the building has clearly not had its floors mopped in months residents laundry is always dirty and closets are always messy unorganized this was probably the biggest joke of a business i have ever seen most of the staff is improperly trained teens or 20 year olds it’s very disheartening to see what these people go through I just want you all to know what’s really going on here. These people are in danger at this facility

I’m sharing my personal experience in hopes it helps others make informed decisions. What I witnessed at Aspen Valley Senior Living left me deeply concerned for the safety and proper care of the residents.<br><br>One of the most alarming ongoing issues I saw was that medications were frequently passed extremely late—sometimes up to three hours past the scheduled time. For elderly residents who depend on consistent dosing, this felt dangerous and completely irresponsible.<br><br>I also witnessed a serious incident involving a resident who had fallen. Afterward, he was clearly in pain, but the nurse on duty, Lisa Schindele, did not send him to the hospital right away. He later said he was having trouble breathing and had constant chest pain. When he was finally admitted, he was found to have three broken ribs and fluid building in his lungs. From my perspective, the delay in care was completely unacceptable and put him at real risk.<br><br>I repeatedly had trouble contacting Lisa Schindele when residents needed assistance. She often did not answer her phone, which made it incredibly difficult to get timely help. It truly came across as a lack of urgency and concern for the people she was supposed to be caring for.<br><br>Another major concern was her refusal to complete basic cares for memory care residents. From what I personally saw, Lisa often said she was “too uncomfortable” to care for memory care residents, and she made other staff members handle all of their personal care while she sat aside. These residents deserve compassion, attention, and respectful hands-on care—not avoidance.<br><br>Cleanliness throughout the building was also an ongoing issue. Even after mopping with several buckets of water, the floors still looked dirty. Laundry wasn’t much better—residents’ clothes often came back looking unwashed despite the facility having a full laundry room with multiple machines.<br><br>I also observed deeply troubling staff behavior. In the designated smoking area, I personally saw some employees using what appeared to be marijuana on their breaks, then returning to care for vulnerable elderly residents. Even worse, I witnessed an employee in memory care grab a resident so roughly that the woman fell to the floor. Watching that happen was shocking and heartbreaking.<br><br>Management was rarely present. In my experience, there was almost no oversight, no accountability, and no leadership stepping in to address the constant issues happening daily.<br><br>Based on everything I personally observed, I do not feel these residents are safe, and I do not believe the facility is run by people who genuinely care about the individuals living there. Families deserve to know what is really going on behind closed doors.

My mom has been in Aspen Valley for a little over a year now. It was hard to move her but it has been the best thing for her. The staff is caring and kind. At first, a gentleman caller was a bit too excited to visit her in her room unannounced, but once we ironed<br>that out she has been great. Paul is very communicative and because I travel a lot for work I am constantly checking in with them. Mom is in good hands. The facility is clean and the food is good.
