Area Agency on Aging of Western Arkansas has been unbelievably wonderful for my family. A family member has had dementia since a brain injury 32 years ago. AAAWA has repeatedly come through with resources like a number of caregiver grants and respite grants.<br><br>After 32 years, sometimes I think I won’t gain much from a per group of fellow caregivers after all my years in this journey; however, not only do I pick up tips here and there, but I have a place to verbalize what’s in my head without people judging or trying to offer silly solutions to fix something that can’t be fixed. This safe place culture comes from AAAWA’s expert group facilitators and their expertise.<br><br>I also recommend Area Agency of Western Arkansas for their ombudsman and advocacy services. These folks have your back. Big time!

I can’t say enough POSITIVE things about Area agency on aging. Without Bente , helping me navigate this path with my dads needs, I know, I could not have done it by myself. I had an AWFUL encounter with a VERY well known business that gave me no hope. All I can say, is I had things in place in less than a 8 hour time frame. So if you are looking for a loving company and staff, give them a call. If they can’t help you they will find out who can. They don’t stop unless the have helped you and the patient to their full ability.
