My husband has been at Arden Courts (Old Orchard) for nearly 3 months, and I've been so impressed by the care he's received. Care staff members truly understand the needs and issues of their memory care population, and they are compassionate, understanding, and kind. And also funny! They work as a true team, and they treat the residents like family members. Arden Courts also provides wonderful musical performances, holiday celebrations, games, and more, and the activities staff are equally kind and caring. This is exhausting, often under-appreciated work, but the folks at Arden Courts are committed to doing it well. I'm glad, and relieved, that my husband has settled in there.

I apologize for my earlier Post. My mother Contracted COVID, then Transferred to St. Luke's w/ my Insistence, during Her Stay at the OLD ORCHARD* Facility, which is next Door to your Arden Courts.
They confused my DNI ( Intibation ) w a DNR*, refusing Her IV Fluids & Feeding Tube Nutrition, which was done TOO LATE, Dying 3 days after Admission. I remember distinctly Her Nurse Practitioner badgering me for a DNR. I refused but went with the less Restrictive DNI.
How can an 88yr Old, 90 lb Elder FIGHT a Virus w/o Nutrition & essential Hydrational components ??
On a personal note, I was the Sole Child advocating for Her Health for YEARS ; my 3 sisters - Local, were too " busy " to visit OR available on the PHONE....until Her Final Days !!? My Eldest sister stating I was too 'Demanding (?), My middle sister finally ADMITTING She was Our Mom's ((Medical Proxy)) ....but only IN ....THE END ☠️✝️

My husband is the guardian for his best friend. Mark was diagnosed with early-onset dementia several years ago. He remained on his own for about 4 years with assistance and moved to Arden Courts about a year ago. We have been very pleased with the care he is receiving. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mark appears to be well cared for and always seems happy when we visit.

I can’t say enough good things about Arden Courts Old Orchard. Watching my Mom suffer from dementia has been heartbreaking, but I honestly wouldn’t want her anywhere else. I’ve spent a lot of time there, and I can tell you without a doubt that the staff truly care about their residents, and that they do an excellent job caring for them. I recently attended the funeral of a resident, and was blown away by the number of staff that came out to support the family and tearfully pay their respects. And something I must mention, because it’s so, so important, is the outstanding caliber and sheer number of activities they have for the residents throughout the day, every single day. We visited at a lot of places when looking to place our Mom, and we never saw a memory facility come even close to Arden Courts in both the amount and quality of their activities. They have them scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 at night—yes, even after dinner! My Mom needs this, and as a visiting family member, I need it, too! I’ve gotten to enjoy countless high quality musical acts with my Mom, along with games, crafts, trivia, songs, birthday parties, church services, parades, horseback riding (!), special holiday dinners that are beautifully decorated and absolutely delicious, and the list goes on. Being engaged is so vital to a person with dementia. Each one of these people lived vital, active lives prior to their diagnosis, and deserve to continue feeling connected and cared for—this is what they get at Arden Courts, and I’m so grateful.
