About Arcadia Care at Kewanee

Arcadia Care at Kewanee is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Kewanee, Illinois, licensed to serve 84 residents.

Family experiences here are notably mixed. Several families describe deeply positive relationships with staff, one wrote that their mother "lived four years, thriving in the facility, surrounded by staff that became her second family." Others praise the welcoming environment, friendliness of caregivers, and willingness to accommodate family requests like keeping spouses in the same room. However, a significant number of families report concerns about staffing levels and service cuts. One family noted that after Arcadia's acquisition, residents in assisted living were told to be more independent, with reductions in transportation, housekeeping hours, and hands-on assistance, disappointing those who moved in expecting support.

The facility holds a 3.8 out of 5 Google rating based on 21 reviews. The split between five-star and one-star ratings suggests that experiences vary considerably, possibly reflecting inconsistencies in care delivery or changes following the ownership transition.

After Arcadia purchased this facility, the people in the assisted living portion were told to be more “independent”. They took away the transportation, they cut the hours of the housekeeping, and have been reducing “assistance” for the elderly that need it. Not one resident is at all happy as some of them sold their homes to move in to get help. If it doesn’t improve, legal action must be taken. I wouldn’t recommend a move into this place until things improve.
