I just wanted to share my honest thoughts about this place as I have seen it first hand. First off, I saw a CNA get angry at a resident and almost like she shook them. Never in my life would I think that would happen, just because he couldn’t hear her. Second, they are not very clean. They leave the residents dirty linen on the floor, and don’t put it in the linen cart right away. Third of all, they get angry at residents who eat slower than others. This is definitely not what I expected. Residents need extra time, love and support. I do not recommend Arbor Acres to anyone.

I visited a friend who is in Strickland Place, where they get nursing care. From the moment I entered, I couldn't believe the difference between the other nursing homes I've been in. And I've been in quite a few in other counties. The first thing I noticed is the cleanliness and absolutely NO BAD SMELL! I checked in and was given a visitors nametag. The rooms were a nice size and a not huge, but a big screen TV. Every staff member I had contact with had the sunniest disposition. After my visit, I checked out so they know you have left. Driving in and then out again, there is a large community of retirement homes. This is absolutely the best retirement community I've ever visited, especially the nursing facilty. I told my kids this is where I'm going when the time is right!

The best retirement community in Winston-Salem!! My Grandmother has lived here for over 15 years and is better because of this community.

When my grandmother first came to reside here 4 years ago it was lovely. I am assuming the pandemic has hit it very hard. The staff shortage is very apparent and I feel for the all that are trying their best. But 4 CNA's to 200 residents is terrible for all. They should not be adding anymore residents until they staff appropriately. The dining was very good before pandemic and they struggle now to provide good options. They did have a lovely Valentine's meal of filet mignon and lobster.with a well decorated dining hall to celebrate. So hoping it will bounce back very soon.

Extremely well staffed and equipped! My mother went in from a previous Assisted Living facility being way under weight, extremely depressed and unhappy about most everything. After being there for less than a month (it's now been about 8 months) her weight was normalizing, she was less depressed and actually smiles!
