My mother considers Amity Place her home. She has a lovely room, and the staff are friendly and caring—although my mother does have her favorites. I visit her every week, and she is always neatly dressed in matching clothing with her hair carefully combed. Whenever I ask if she has any complaints, she simply says, “What is there to complain about?”
The activity coordinator, Dawn, has endless energy and genuinely cares about the residents’ well-being. One of the fall family events included farm animals—horses, goats, cats, and pigs—and my mother could not stop smiling. She loved petting the animals. The food—funnel cakes, soft pretzels, popcorn, apple cider, and more—made the day even more fun for everyone. The Thanksgiving dinner is another wonderful event where families and residents gather together, and the food is always excellent.
My brother and I truly feel that our mother is well cared for at Amity Place, and we are very happy with the choice we made.
