I rarely leave reviews, but families deserve to know about our experience. My mother, who has advanced breast cancer and severe lymphedema, was admitted to this facility because our family did not have the resources to provide the around-the-clock care she needed. After initially leaving out of fear, she was eventually readmitted. Once family members began visiting regularly, we became deeply concerned about the level of care she was receiving. My mother’s left side was severely swollen, yet her food and drinks were often placed on that side where she could not easily reach them. If family was not present to help feed and hydrate her, she often went without. We also experienced long delays when requesting assistance, including waiting over an hour after repeatedly using the call button for help. My mother was supposed to be repositioned every two hours, but during multiple five-hour visits, I never witnessed her being repositioned. She frequently asked staff to adjust her because she was uncomfortable, weak, and unable to move herself. Unfortunately, those requests were often met with what felt like irritation rather than compassion. The most troubling part of our experience occurred when my mother repeatedly complained of worsening pain, inability to feel parts of her body, and other concerning symptoms. Rather than focusing on her medical concerns, much of the conversation centered around the fact that if she left for the hospital, she would not be allowed to return. It took an unnecessarily long time for her to be transported for evaluation. When she finally arrived at the hospital, doctors informed us that she was severely dehydrated, malnourished, covered in bruising, had developed a severe bedsore, and that her cancer had progressed significantly. I understand that hospice care is for patients with terminal illnesses, and I know my mother’s cancer was advanced. However, terminal illness does not mean a patient should go without food, hydration, repositioning, dignity, compassion, or timely attention. Our family left feeling that our concerns were dismissed and that my mother’s comfort and quality of life were not treated with the urgency they deserved. This was our experience, and I hope other families ask a lot of questions and remain actively involved in their loved one’s care. If you have family there, relocate them. If you’re considering this place, don’t.

Do not send your loved one to this place. In my experience, they did not provide proper care. Some patients were left unattended long enough to develop serious issues like bed sores. I also witnessed concerning behavior from certain staff members, including appearing impaired while on duty. Going to vehicles drinking alcohol (we have a few videos) The level of overmedication I saw left patients in a zombie‑like state instead of being comforted or supported. This is not the standard of care any family should have to accept.

My mother passed at this facility. I’m happy that she was able to be comfortable and kept. They are really supportive of patients and their families. They even called me back a week later to check on my mental health. Hospice is never an easy choice. However, I will always remember how this facility made me feel. ❤️ thank you Amicasa
