About Ambassador Health of Lincoln

Ambassador Health of Lincoln is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Lincoln, Nebraska. It serves both rehabilitation patients recovering from acute injuries and residents requiring ongoing care, including hospice services.

Reviews reveal a stark divide in family experience. Several families praised the rehabilitation and nursing staff as compassionate, attentive, and skilled in physical therapy outcomes, with one noting that therapy staff helped a patient with severe fractures regain mobility in less than two weeks. Families also highlighted thoughtful touches, like accommodating pet visits and providing activities tailored to residents' interests. However, a larger group of families reported serious concerns: medication errors and delays, inadequate personal care (missed baths, residents left in soiled conditions), insufficient pain management and activity engagement, and staffing shortages affecting responsiveness to call buttons. Some families described medical safety issues, including over-medication, incorrect oxygen levels, and prescription errors that required hospitalization.

The facility carries a 3.1 out of 5 star rating across 26 Google reviews, with distinct clusters of five-star and one-star assessments. The gap between positive and negative experiences suggests inconsistency in day-to-day care delivery.

Everyone on staff was very helpful and friendly, not just to my Mother, but I saw this repeatedly towards other residents. I was there nearly everyday for multiple hours. I was able to bring her dog with me for most visits. My Mother was there for Rehab, but upon an additional diagnosis, was then entered into a hospice service. They were highly responsive and timely to her emergency. We received great assistance from several departments with all of the medical changes. She was able to stay in the same room, with the same nurses, aides, and routine, even though her medical picture had drastically changed. The atmosphere there was nice, and everything was clean and orderly. There were lots of things that were flexible, so my Mom felt treated like an individual person. Our family received the support we needed for both the Rehab, and the End-of-Life care.

Worse place I have ever seen! The staff are not professional at all! They over medicated my brother in law, left him sit in his own urine, didn’t even offer to help him eat, let him get cradle cap, let him get so dehydrated that when he had a appointment the doctor had to give him iv fluids, he lost 16 pounds in 2 weeks, when you talked to the staff about issues they said oh we will check into it but never did same issues. Ant traps all over. Physical therapy really sucks he became so much weaker than before some days they didn’t even do therapy. Staff complaining they couldn’t help him stand up bc her back hurt to much. Some staff wore there pants so low you saw there underwear gross!! Highly don’t recommend this place at all.

There was no answer when I called at 11:04 a.m. I wanted to know when the visiting hours stop weekdays & weekends. The place was remodeled but the service still seems poor like most of the nursing homes I dealt with in Lincoln Nebraska.

I’ve been home now for a week. I was a patient at Ambassador Health of Lincoln for the two weeks prior to that. I was in the rehabilitation wing of the facility. My injuries sustained from a no seatbelt vehicle accident, fractured left pelvis / fractured L1 vertebrae / 5 fractured ribs, required daily physical therapy & occupational therapy. In less than two weeks their therapy staff had me from wheelchair bound to walking with a rollator and no longer needing assistance to stand, sit, lay down, get out of bed, or use the restroom. I’d say that’s pretty commendable. Some days were better than others. That’s how PT & OT work. The medical staff gave excellent care, all shifts. I never felt mistreated or undignified. Most of the nurses take a very stern motherly approach to all of the patients. The CNA’s, resident aides, med aides, bath aides, kitchen staff, and transportation staff were all very professional, courteous, and prompt with any requests. I am thankful I was there and appreciate all of the people who cared for me. I would recommend Ambassador Health to anyone needing to go to a rehabilitation facility. And finally, a huge shout out and thank you to Dante, who picked me off the floor when I fell in my room. No way I could have gotten up by myself. Thank you.

Would not recommend this care facility. One or two of the staff were caring and hard workers, the rest not so much. This place has more slackers and management, social worker are included. The few caring good staff they have are getting "burn out." Management needs an overhaul.
