Do NOTTTT send any one you truely love here and I really mean that. Nurses do not hand out right medication, or they’ll give your loved ones medication they’re allergic to, the CNAs are worse, they leave their residents in wet diapers, my mother got yelled at for no reason at all and the food is unseasoned and horrible. It’s nothing but disrespect and treating your loved ones like they mean nothing. I don’t even know how this place is still open… if I could give 0 starts I would.

My mother-in law was admitted after fracturing her femur. Care was horrible. CNA's fail to respond to call lights leaving her on the commode for 45+ minutes, food inedible. She didn't receive rehabilitative services during the first 10 days becuase they could not understand her post op reports but weren't doing their due dilligence to gather the information either. No support from social services to help to complete PFMLA paperwork needed for work or support. After her first post-op appointment last Friday 3/6, they finally determined "she did not have a full knee replacement" which we had been telling them all along, and finally began to work with her in OT/PT only for her to be discharged not even 4 days later with less than 24 hours notice. We have no at home care plan, supports or ability to physically support her at home as there was ZERO discharge planning. Her son and father had to physically carry her in the house and into the living room because she is non weight bearing. The biggest kicker. She developed pneumonia this weekend while there, and is high risk due to COPD but they still discharged her with antibiotics and prednisone. So not even 24 hours later we are back in the hospital.

My grandmother resided at West Acres for the last couple of years on Station 3 until her passing on August 28, 2025. My family and I could not be more grateful for the care she received. The staff on Station 3 are truly heaven sent. Caring for someone with dementia requires an incredible amount of patience, compassion, and understanding. It means meeting them where they are, staying calm during moments of confusion, repeating things without frustration, and offering reassurance when they feel scared or unsure. The staff at West Acres did exactly that every single day. They showed my grandmother genuine compassion, dignity, and respect. They treated her like family and always made sure she was comfortable, safe, and cared for. During some of the hardest moments, they supported not only her but our entire family with kindness and empathy. I also want to thank everyone who played a role in her care, the housekeepers who kept her room clean and welcoming, the front desk staff who always greeted us warmly, the dietary team who made sure her meals were prepared with care, the social worker who guided us with compassion, and the case management team who helped us navigate everything along the way. Every single person contributed to her comfort, dignity, and overall well being. Especially Manny for being her safe and comfort person and for always going above and beyond for her. We will forever be thankful for the love and dedication they showed her until the very end. Station 3 will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My sister and I are forever grateful to have found West Acres-Brockton for our mom’s last year of life. The entire team is so respectful to the residents in their care, including the families and friends who visit. Charlene, Christine, and Kaila have been especially sensitive and sensational during mom’s last months, communicating with clarity and helping us be as ready as possible for this monumental moment. I wish all families the peace that the care team at West Acres have granted our mother and us.

Let's be honest: no one wants to send a loved one to a nursing home. My sister and I toured several nursing homes, and often left in tears at the thought of placing mom in their care. West Acres stood out in ways that made a difficult decision feel like the right decision. What we first noticed (and noticed every time we visited) is that the place was clean and there were no foul smells. Mom had very advanced Alzheimer's and required a hoyer lift. From the moment she arrived, her intake was seamless. Mom was mostly non-verbal, and Nurse Jamie advocated for her and really took the time to get to know her. Subsequently, I received several calls from other staff members (chef, activities director, etc) inquiring about her likes/dislikes, food preferences, types of activities she enjoys or might be able to participate in - an effort to get to know mom as a person, not a patient. There is also an active family council that made a real effort to involve family members. Whenever I visited mom at WA (mostly unannounced), she was always in clean clothes and her bed always looked clean. She arrived at WA with a misdiagnosed infection that the staff had healing in no time. Additionally, the grounds are lovely with a back deck overlooking a field that made for nice outdoor time with mom, something she always loved. Mom passed away at West Acres, and they made her transition and our final time with her private and respectful. I am sure that no place is perfect, but West Acres took very good care of someone very important to us, and made her important to them.
