If I could give 0 stars, I would. My mother was a resident at this facility for about a year and a half. The facility evicted her for her "behaviors" (she has dementia). At first I was angry, but now I am so grateful. When I brought my mom home, I discovered she had horrible toenail fungus. I took her to the podiatrist and they said that it took well over a year to progress to the point it was. When I questioned the facility about her seeing a podiatrist, they claimed she did a few months prior, on a date when my mom was NOT at the facility. Medicare was billed and I had to report the podiatrist and the facility for Medicare fraud. I would have never checked my mom's feet, I mean who would? You are paying to make sure your loved one is taken care of when they are at their most vulnerable. In addition, my mom's engagement ring was stolen while she was there. I let her keep it on when she moved there because it was something she loved. When I spoke to the director, Regina (who is a disgrace as a director), she told me that residents in the Memory Care unit like to "play dress up" so my mom probably lost it. Dress up? The residents are grown adults and she talked about them like they were 5 years old. She then told me that she didn't know what I wanted her to do about the ring. I understood that the ring was gone, all I wanted was an apology. The director is the most incompetent director I have come across during my journey of finding a safe place for my mom. When I visited my mom at Allegria, she was always mismatched with her clothing, had stains on her clothes, had other people's clothes in her drawers, etc. I thought it was the dementia and maybe she didn't want to change, or had become sloppy when eating. That was not the case. My mom wasn't being cared for. When I visit her now, she is dressed in HER clothes that are clean and stain free, she doesn't have anyone else's belongings in her room, and she has not exhibited ANY of the behaviors that Allegria claimed she had. If she was angry at Allegria, it was because her care was horrible. I feel so guilty because my mom was trying to communicate by acting out and I didn't realize it. My warning is this - check your loved one, head to toe, when you visit, check the Medicare claims made for care there, question the visits because some of them are bogus, and don't send anything of sentimental value. I made my mom a scrapbook to help her remember her life with pictures that were priceless. The facility still has NOT returned it to me. They have no respect for patient's belongings, as I found someone else's precious memories stuffed in a closet in my mom's room. I hope that this review saves one person, at their most vulnerable, from this horrid place.
