My family feels so fortunate that we learned about Alexandria Victoria care home. We needed a place for my dad for full care. He is a big guy, and considered a “2 person assist”, and they could do it all. Dad lived at Alexandria for about 20 months. Not only did they take care of his daily needs, but Rosie, John and Adrian and the rest of the staff became like family. We were always welcome there to visit. I visited most days, and I was able to take my mom, as well as others in the family as well. Sometimes we’d visit in his room, but often it was out on the beautiful back patio, or we’d be in the living room with some fun old collections, or in the sunroom smelling Rosie’s home cookin’! Freshly made food, something for every resident’s needs. They also have a physical therapist on staff, Skyler, who works with residents individually and in groups. Dad was on Hospice during most of his time there, and Rosie and staff knew how to work with them while taking care of the people who live there. During the last 2 weeks of his life, Rosie was such a comfort. We had many conversations about end of life, and I learned so much from this wise woman. There were hard days with Dad, but everyone there was so accommodating. I feel like they were put in our lives for a very special reason. Saying thank you just isn’t enough.
