Went in to view the place (possibly for the parentals) last year. I remember being attended to by a lady named Cheir. Very pleasant person. She gave me a tour around. Place is clean and spacious.

Way over priced, roughly $7000 a MONTH to live there plus a $1000 "one time payment" for the community💀 that's the basic bundle too. But they have amazing staff who are very personable and friendly. The food is good quality and the atmosphere is nice, if you have money to burn go live there

Friends moved in to Dominion Oaks 5 months ago and love it. A great stress remover from trying to sustain their lifestyle in a stand alone home. Delighted with the staff, and the friends they are rapidly making. Not cheap, but the staff are super nice and helpful, and the quality of the residences and common areas is top class.

Finding the right place for your beloved family members is tough; there can be no doubt. It was not something I was looking forward to, and during our first few visits to other independent living places my mom and I just simply walked out. Then we found Dominican Oaks. Dominican Oaks in Santa Cruz is not the best alternative--it far exceeds expectations! We looked both in mom's home town where she thought she'd prefer to remain and here in Santa Cruz where I reside and honestly there was nothing else on the level of sheer excellence that DO provides. The basics are all exemplary with beautiful clean apartments and public areas. There are fresh flowers daily and modern stylish furniture similar to a hotel lobby. They offer amazing food, an array of impressive activities from fun field trips, to small and large group events (happy hour, games, singing groups) and a speaker list that is simply astounding. Just last month they had two authors reading from their books (one was a resident), singers, dancers, UCSC professors, etc. The absolute best part has to be the staff, however. We felt great warmth and enthusiasm almost instantly upon being shown around, the marketing director really connects and really cares, it's very obvious. Then there's the front desk staff who greet ever resident by name, the incredibly activities directors, the daily exercise class offering by a personal trainer, the smiling assistants who respond to any call from adjusting heaters to reworking remotes--it just doesn't stop. The wait staff are very adept about helping shyer and newer residents find dining companions and the beauty parlor staff are wonderfully talented and patient. Their is weekly cleaning and laundry offered as well and the staff again exceeds expectations--not only in their work but the time they give in talking to our mom as well. My mother has been at DO for two years now and I give thanks daily for the gift that is Dominican Oaks!
