My 92 year old mother was here for a couple months for rehab after a fall. They were very helpful here getting her physical therapy and care to help her heal. The staff seemed to me to be knowledgeable and caring. My mother also seemed to enjoy the food, since other people have mentioned that.

The facility is visually appealing, and the food quality is good. Many of the support staff, particularly those not responsible for medication administration, are courteous and attentive. However, I am deeply concerned about the care my 88-year-old aunt, who is battling cancer, has received—specifically regarding her pain management. Her pain medication was scheduled for 5:30 p.m., yet she had to repeatedly request it. When I inquired at the nurses’ station, I was told it would be administered at 6:00 p.m. Only after bringing her to the station did the scheduled time revert to 5:30 p.m., which aligns with what she had consistently stated. This discrepancy caused her to endure unnecessary and significant pain. It is troubling that there appears to be confusion or inconsistency regarding medication schedules, particularly for a patient in severe discomfort. Timely administration of prescribed pain medication is critical, and any deviation from the physician’s orders raises serious concerns about patient care and oversight. While the environment and certain aspects of the facility are commendable, these issues with medication management have significantly affected my trust in the level of care being provided. I do not trust them to give her her pain medication and I think they are keeping it for themselves.

Like living in a hotel! Really nice! The staff are very caring, friendly, and take their time with the residents. Nurses are always around and on top of their patients needs. The activities are fun and well planned. Good food and a clean home. Superb PT and OT! The rooms are spacious. The place to be if you need a really good all around place to be!

I moved my dad here during the last week of his life. As you can imagine, it was the most stressful, sad time for us. I requested a private room near the nurses' station, which they got us right away. We were allowed to come as much as we wanted and do anything we needed to make my dad comfortable. The staff was very informative and helpful. They took good care of my dad. Their supervisor, Danielle, even checked on my dad during her shifts. She sent updates and was so sweet to him. I took care of my dad for 5 years and never wanted him to have to go somewhere. That week, my dad declined rapidly. The ease of admitting him, cleanliness of the facility and attentiveness of the staff helped make the difficult choice easier. I would recommend Alden Estates of Huntley to anyone.

What an amazing place this is. I brought my mom here when she came to visit me. She needed rehab and I had no idea where to go. This place had the best reviews so I thought let’s give it a go. We both were so impressed with how genuinely happy and helpful everyone was. The staff know what they’re doing and the activities offered are well thought out and engaging. The food was outstanding, everyone was happy to be there and the overall vibe was so so good. They definitely know what they’re doing here! The care my mom got was so outstanding.
