I was very surprised to see a 4.9 star rating for this company but as I began to read the reviews, I noticed that most of them were from employees and their experiences while working for the company. Well, my loved one whom I’m the primary caregiver for, was a consumer of services from this company. I rated this company 1 star but if the option for 0 stars were available, I would have given that rating. If you are the primary caregiver for someone and are looking for extra help for your busy schedule, peace of mind and sanity, I recommend looking elsewhere. As you search, consider the reviews and ratings that others leave about these companies because it is for valid reasons and it will save you unneeded stress in the long run. My loved one and I worked with this company for about 2 months. Giving them a try and chance after chance. My loved one went through 4 caregivers in 2 months due to caregivers not showing up to work! Anyone who has a background working with a person who has dementia, knows that they need consistency. This is not something that was provided through this company. Now, we all know that finding the right company for caregiving services is trial and error to find the best fit. Very rarely is it the first company that you encounter and that stands true with our experience with Addus home care. There were many times when a caregiver was scheduled and we were expecting them to show up and they never did. Neither did I receive a call or any other communication to let me know that they would not be coming. I then would call the company and ask if my loved one caregiver would be coming to work with him…..the answer would always be that they called off the day before (even though I was never notified) or the caregiver is scheduled and is supposed to be there, let me call and see where they are (15+ minutes after they were scheduled to be there). Even more often, the scheduled caregiver would not show up and I would never be notified, but when I call to inquire and they tell me that the caregiver called off, they would then tell me that they would try to find a replacement caregiver but they never did. Then they would call me 15-30 minutes after the shift ends to let me know that they could not find anyone ( as if I didn’t realize that after the whole 5-6 hour shift was missed). This happened so often that I constantly had to readjust my schedule and pivot accordingly to make sure that I cared for my loved one that day. I also constantly communicated this to the manager (Jamico) and the supervisor (Tracy) but nothing was ever done to stop it from happening so often. Just assigned a new caregiver who did the same thing all over again. The most consistency that my loved one received was through a caregiver who constantly sat on the couch on his phone and even walked several steps ahead of my elderly loved one (who is a fall risk) during daily walks outside while still looking down at his phone. This was brought to the caregivers attention several times, to keep the phone use at a minimum while caring for my loved one, so that he is safe…..but it never changed. I was then told that the caregiver called in on what was possibly the last day working with my loved one due to him having an interview somewhere else. To make matters worse, this company reported to APS suspected abuse and neglect to my loved one. The case has since been closed and none of the above accusations were proven to be true because they were/are not happening, however, I was completely offended and livid from the whole situation. Like I mentioned at the beginning, do not take reviews lightly when searching for care for your loved ones. I did that with my loved ones current company and it has been an AMAZING experience and completely different from the experience we had with Addus. I can assure you, that this company is not the best fit for your loved ones.

I didn't know what to expect, but WOW, this organization is wonderful. Our trainer LaTonya was professional, knowledgeable and very precise in her directions. Tracy, the supervisor was so complete in her presentation that there were no question because she had covered everything. Great organization... Good people.
