My father was briefly an Accura resident before his death. At the time of his move, I was nervous because of the reviews I read online. While the facility itself is aging and could use cosmetic updates, the care is very good. Every interaction we had with the staff, from CNAs to social work to the director, was positive, and it felt like everyone cared about my dad being treated with dignity and compassion.

My father was recently admitted for a long term care stay. The facility is somewhat older but the quality of the staff makes up for that. Nurses are professional yet personal. Would recommend for those needing to make the difficult decision to move a loved one from independent living to a care facility.

I think this place gets a bad rap from things that happened years, maybe even decades prior. I encourage you to go look at the facility yourself. Meet the administrator and staff. Watch how residents are treated, how they look, if they're enjoying what they're doing. There have been many updates even in the last year to the foyer and halls, bedrooms, etc. Residents have a lot of activies to chose from, including going out to evening activities. There's a lot of individuality and choice. It's clean, doesn't smell, the temperature is comfortable. Just like other places, there are good and bad nursing/cna staff. But complaints are taken seriously and they're weeded out pretty fast. Health both mental and physical is monitored and cared for by nursing/cna staff. Family and friends visits are welcomed and the staff always chat with me when I enter. So again, take a look before you brush this place off as a choice for your loved one.
