I do not recommend placing your loved one in this facility if you can avoid it. My mother and I were rushed through the hospital discharge process to place my father into a nursing facility for what was supposed to be continued rehabilitation and treatment. This facility was recommended by the hospital. At the time of discharge, my father had a developing bedsore, and it was our understanding that he would receive wound care treatment, physical therapy, and occupational therapy while under this facility’s care based on discussions we had with two administrative staff members during enrollment. My father stayed at this facility for approximately 21 days. During our visits, we observed various nurses bringing meals and providing general care, and we did see physical therapy staff visit him several times. However, during the entire time he was there, we never personally observed wound care being performed, nor did any wound care staff communicate with us regarding updates, treatment plans, or strategies concerning his worsening wound. As family members, we trusted that the necessary care and communication would be provided. During his stay, the wound significantly worsened. What began as a developing bedsore became much larger and deeper, and we were later informed that the wound had progressed to the point that bone was exposed. This was alarming for our family, especially given our understanding that wound care treatment was supposed to be part of his care plan at this facility.

My grandmother recently passed and spent her final years at this facility. I've only been inside of a few other nursing homes and in my opinion, it seems about on par with the others. It wasn't perfect and there were issues with food (mostly being cold/inedible and small portions) and some of the nurses (attitude, lack of patience and compassion), but that seemed to align with staff turnover. No one wants to live in a nursing home and I can't imagine how physically, mentally, and emotionally draining it must be to work at one so I definitely give the nurses grace when it comes to their attitude and demeanor. Underneath, everyone maintained professionalism and did their job. Communication was important and they kept us updated on appointments, problems, concerns, etc. My grandmother, MeiMei, really grew to love some of the staff and they were all so kind and sweet the night she passed. Very respectful and they hurt when they lose someone they see everyday also. Abercorn Rehab also has an in-house wound care team that is absolutely phenomenal! They are one of the best wound care teams in Savannah to my understanding and I am so thankful for their efforts! Lastly, a special thank you to Mrs. Crystal, her night nurse that definitely left a special mark on my grandmother and her family. And to Pierre, you kept her spirits up and she enjoyed your company! Again, It's not the perfect place, but they took care of my grandmother when she couldn't take care of herself anymore. For that I am thankful.

My mother is in there now. About to pull her out. Food is not good Her medications weren't being given to her correctly and tech would come in at 3:30 - in the morning and wake her up to draw blood and not tell her why. This evening (Saturday) she went to the front lobby to sit while her semi pvt patient roommate had personal care and got up from the chair covered in bedbugs. Staff had to help her pick them off her clothes and get her to a shower. Patients in other rooms can be heard screaming "help me" all night long!!

I recently visited this place, and I have to say, I was really impressed! The environment is very clean and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The admissions office staff were wonderful—so friendly and helpful. They really made the whole process smooth and easy. I also had some interactions with the business office, and I found them to be very polite and professional. It's clear that the entire staff genuinely cares about the people they are helping. Overall, it felt like a friendly community where everyone is ready to assist. Highly recommend checking it out!
