The Social is an exceptional place. When we were looking for a place for my dad earlier this year we toured several facilities. Many were nice but overpriced or lacking the "home" feeling. Some were downright awful, dirty and some of the residents didn't appear to be taken care of properly. I was exhausted searching for his new home and almost cancelled my tour at the Social because I was overwhelmed facing the decision to move him somewhere I myself wouldn't want to be. Luckily, I did the tour and was convinced this was his new home. I told my husband on a few occasions that I would love to be at a place like the Social if I was his age, there is just so much fun happening. The staff was friendly to my family and their residents. The facility itself was nice and there was an employee always close by to assist with any needs. We originally placed him in independent living and eventually had to move him to memory care due to his declining health. Although dad didn't participate in many activities (by his choice), there was a never-ending list of events, outings and activities. The food was his biggest complaint, but I was told they are working on fixing some of those issues. The Social quickly became not only his new residence, but it also felt like a piece of home to me. I got to know staff and the other residences quickly. Dad passed a few weeks ago and oddly enough I miss going there and seeing everyone. That to me speaks volumes of how special this place is! If you are in the "thick of it" looking for a place, I highly suggest a tour.
