Description

The Terraces at Lawrence is well-known in the community of Lawrenceville, thanks to its long history of providing comfort and support.

In 1898, Colonel Daniel Morris left a substantial bequest to the Catholic Diocese of Trenton to create a home for the aged. From this bequest, the community was then founded by Bishop James A. McFaul, creating the St. Michael’s Children’s Home and Morris Hall Home for the Aged, known today as The Terraces at Lawrence.

The land where our community sits was formerly farmland that the Diocese used to produce food for The Terraces. The cornerstone for Morris Hall was laid in 1904, and Bishop McFaul began accepting residents into the community in 1905, holding the community’s first-ever Mass on August 13, 1905. Morris Hall will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2024, supported by its legacy of care, hope, faith, and comfort.

Today, we uphold the ideal of providing an enhanced quality of life for each of our residents, regardless of their needs. Everyone deserves a life of comfort, and we’re proud to provide it here at The Terraces at Lawrence.
