A Meaningful Life

Nestled in Chicago's southwest corner, Mercy Circle is only 17 miles from downtown Chicago and adjacent to suburban Evergreen Park. We are perfectly situated to provide a lifestyle offering comfort and convenience, as well as spiritual and intellectual enrichment.

Mercy Circle, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is a community in every sense of the word: Not just a warm, welcoming place with a supportive staff, we are friends and neighbors too. We share interests, enjoy activities and hobbies, and volunteer for ministries.

We believe in respect, loving kindness and Christian values. Our chapel, where a daily liturgy is offered, as well as our meditation rooms, are always open.

If you share our approach to living, you will feel right at home at Mercy Circle.

Independent Living

At Mercy Circle, you will both cherish the freedom to come and go according to your schedule and enjoy a calendar full of events and activities, without compromising the time you wish to spend by yourself.

There is no entrance fee at Mercy Circle. Your monthly rental fee includes a spacious, bright apartment in a newly-constructed building, along with plenty of extras. As a resident, you will enjoy amenities including scheduled transportation, an exercise room and salon, gathering and game rooms and on-site banking.

Ground floor suites open onto a private patio adjacent to the landscaped garden and walking paths. Garage spaces are available for a small monthly fee. Free outdoor parking for guests and residents is conveniently located just steps from the main entrance.

We offer a one-bedroom-plus-den, a two-bedroom or a deluxe two-bedroom apartment, each with its own temperature control. All apartment floor plans have a spacious living room, full kitchen including a dishwasher, and come with a washer and dryer.

The Mercy Circle dining program provides one restaurant-quality meal each day: breakfast, lunch or dinner. Visit our Bistro for a snack or you can cook and bake in your fully-equipped kitchen. A private dining room is always available to entertain or celebrate special occasions.

Given the eye appeal of the architecture and design, the comprehensive list of services and the limited number of residences, you may feel like you are our guest in a loving home. Because, in a sense, you are.

Is it time for you to plan for the future

Assisted Living

Your life enhanced

At Mercy Circle, our skilled and experienced staff will provide the appropriate level of care needed to fit each individual. As dedicated professionals, we will help with all your daily living activities including managing medications, assistance with walking, bathing, dressing and using the bathroom.

We offer one-bedroom apartments featuring a sitting room spacious enough to accommodate your favorite furnishings, a multi-purpose kitchenette, an over-sized closet and a luxurious bathroom designed for safety with a large, walk-in shower.

At this level of care, we provide three top-quality, nutritious meals prepared daily at the direction of Mercy Circle’s executive chef. You are always welcome to invite guests to dine with you and experience the excellent service and elegant appointments of our formal dining room.

We know you may need help in managing certain aspects of your life, but you may also benefit from opportunities and the many activities available. Volunteers play a big role at Mercy Circle. We offer opportunities to tutor students, learn a new skill or just enjoy socializing with neighbors who share your interests. In our community, we think our life is made better as we improve the lives of others.

What happens if your needs suddenly change?

Memory Care

Intimate care of a loved one

Caring and kindness are constants in every Mercy Circle setting, but take on a special meaning for everyone in our memory care wing. Here, residents experience the benefits of working with our specially-trained and understanding staff. We are prepared to help with cognitive challenges on an individual basis.

Baggot Street named for the street in Dublin where Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, opened the first House of Mercy's a symbol of Mercy Circle’s legacy.

For our memory care residents, this is a place of familiarity, community and support. Through color-coded decorations, spiritual quotations and other cues we prompt and assist residents ability to maintain mental agility.

Interaction with nature in our secure garden, and nurturing birds and fish are part of a larger program that we provide to keep residents engaged and socially connected.

Just as we attend to residents physical, mental and emotional well-being, at Baggot Street every resident helps one another through inclusion and friendship.

Challenges with memory require constant renewal and re-learning, and so our residences in Baggot Street are easy-to-navigate suites, each with a full bathroom built for easy accessibility and, above all, safety.

Would your loved one flourish at Baggot Street?

Rehab/Skilled Nursing Care

Trust and healing

If you need rehab for a short period while recovering from an illness or injury, or require extensive skilled nursing care, Mercy Circle supports every aspect of your physical, emotional and spiritual life.

Our physical, occupational and speech therapy services are available on-site six days a week. Intensive programs with highly-skilled therapists produce fast results and positive outcomes.

Whether you are a short- or long-term resident, you are a member of our family and this is your home. We strongly believe the sense of belonging and safety builds confidence and the energy to heal more quickly.

While at Mercy Circle we make sure you have adequate time to recover in your comfortable suite with a fully-equipped, private bathroom. As your strength and vitality return, we can assist as you enjoy and participate in activities and programs; visit our main dining room for meals; and meet others in our community.
