Description

Welcome to Easy Living

At Easy Living, we are proud to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. We understand that meeting the needs of a loved one with developmental disabilities is an important part of a healthy and happy life. We strive to support individuals in a safe, healthy, and fulfilling lifestyle. It is important to us that individuals, guardians, family and friends are assured they will be supported with quality care, compassion, and dedication.

About Us

Easy Living is dedicated to helping your loved one live their best life. With the care and support of our highly-trained team, we encourage your loved one to thrive in independence and reach their highest potential in their own home.

A History of Caring

Easy Living, Inc., was established in 1991 by Chuck and Dianna Smith.  Chuck served as the first executive director of Missouri Special Olympics and did so for more than two decades prior to creating Easy Living, Inc.  He was truly devoted to individuals with developmental disabilities, proven throughout a career of compassion spanning nearly 40 years.

Dianna has worked directly with individuals with developmental disabilities for over 30 years, and we have individuals today that she took care of or taught as children. Since the 1970’s, Dianna has been dedicated to creating a safe, caring, rich life for individuals with disabilities by providing a loving family environment.

A Tradition of Opportunity

Easy Living is about more than just helping individuals live their lives at home — it’s about opportunity!

We provide the opportunity for our individuals to experience everything possible through endless activities – ranging from a formal prom to educational experiences to cage diving with a shark in the Springfield Aquarium!

When we say “A Home Is Just a Beginning,” this is what we mean. A full life for our individuals requires more than just a home — it requires happiness, caring, relationships, and opportunities!

A Home Is Just a Beginning

At Easy Living, we stand by our motto that “A Home Is Just a Beginning,” because we believe that everyone deserves a home where they can learn, grow, and be an active part of their community.

Easy Living helps each individual live safely and comfortably in their community. We support individuals in health, happiness, success, and independence. We provide the foundation for individuals to live their best lives to their fullest potential with assistance from caring professionals. We’re here for you, and we will do it together.

Services

Our mission is to help individuals live happy and healthy lives, with a wide variety of compassionate, supportive services. Easy Living is dedicated to promoting independence and community involvement in every possible way. We place a strong emphasis on quality of care in every area of service provision, every day, for every individual.

Individualized Supported Living

Individualized Supported Living (ISL) is a form of residential habilitation that allows individuals to live safely in their own home with up to twenty-four-hour staff support. We assist individuals to maintain daily tasks such as meal planning, cooking, shopping, bathing, hygiene, and the upkeep of their home, and we accompany individuals to community activities.

Individual Skills Development

Individual Skills Development (ISD) focuses on teaching and improving the skills needed to maintain the individual’s home and personal business independently. This includes teaching, cleaning, cooking skills, budgeting, setting up and attending appointments, paying bills, and other tasks necessary to successfully live independently.

Community Integration

Community Integration (CI) provides assistance and mentorship to teach new social skills. CI focuses on communication, social prompts, making plans, and attending social events. CI is intended to help individuals participate in social interactions, friendships, and social gatherings in the community.
