The neighborhood where Churchview is located is full of history, starting with the bungalow homes that were built between 1890 and 1940. Generation after generation of families have grown up in these homes with many utilizing Holy Cross Hospital as their hospital of choice. The hospital has been providing excellent care since 1927.

Touching Lives
Lynda and Marcel’s Story: Couple Finds Peace of Mind at Churchview
When Lynda and Marcel found out they had to leave the home they’d been living in for the past 26 years, they were scared and heartbroken.
They had gotten to a point where they realized they could no longer live on their own, but they didn't know their options.
A friend of the couple shared their story with Elizabeth, our marketing director, and she reached out to see if Churchview would be a good fit for them.
The duo loved the idea of a community that offered the independence they desired and provided the assistance they needed. Their one concern was their cats Rubio and Snowball. They didn't want to leave them behind. We helped them complete service animal paperwork, so they could bring their companion animals.
Lynda and Marcel fell in love with their new home right away.
I haven't slept this good in so long, Lynda said. I finally have peace of mind, and this is a wonderful feeling.
They both say that their friend and our marketing director crossed paths for a reason, and whatever that reason is, they sure are thankful for Churchview Supportive Living.
Ounita's Story: Home Sweet Home
Whenever you see Ounita Spates, she is always smiling. And these days, she has a million reasons to smile.
That wasn't always the case.
After Ounita lost her husband several years ago, she felt lost and alone. She lived with different family members and friends until deciding that she was at a point in her life where she needed a place of her own.
By chance, a friend told her about Churchview Supportive Living. She came in for a tour and fell in love with our community.
Now one of our seasoned residents, Ounita recalls her visit to Churchview. She walked through the doors and was welcomed by the delicious aroma coming from the dining room. The food is one of the things that she loves most about Churchview, and it’s why she makes sure is always first to come down from her apartment for meals. Every time she eats, she is reminded that she doesn't have to cook for herself anymore. Our staff serves her breakfast, lunch and dinner one less thing for her to worry about.
When you see Ounita, you can't look past her beautiful, radiant smile. She lights up a room and is always the life of our parties. An active member of our community, she joins our exercise classes three days per week. Loves to work on puzzles in our activity room and doesn't miss a field trip.
We are so glad Ounita chose Churchview. She is an absolute joy to be around, and she is a vibrant part of our community.
Churchview helped Ounita find what she’d been missing: home.
Razik's Story: After Falling on Hard Times, He Finds a Way to Help Others Thrive
There are two things you know for sure about Razik:
1) he’s always smiling 2) he’s always willing to lend a hand.
Razik says he is passionate about helping others.
And when you have been in a position where you needed help yourself, it makes you more empathetic to the needs of others.
We first met Razik when he was he came to a coat drive at our community. Later, when he fell on hard times, he remembered us and reached out because he needed a helping hand.
And we gave that to him.
Razik had been mistreated by his family and found himself homeless before he moved here.
I'm blessed to have found a place like Churchview, he said. Where else can you go, and they feed you three times a day
These days, Razik is an active member of our community and introduced us to the Iman Community Center, which now hosts several events that our residents attend.
Razik is our helping hand. He loves to attend morning coffee socials and the outreach events at our community. We have watched him from the day he came to us for a helping hand to today when he is constantly offering his hand to help others. We are blessed to have Razik here at Churchview Supportive Living.
