Artesian Place is located just west of the Highway 101/8 and I-5 intersection in west Olympia and within a block of Capital Medical Center services and hospital. Artesian Place has been open and providing care for residents since the late 1990’s. Caring Places Management is honored to carry on the tradition of quality care in a homelike environment that Artesian Place has been known for in the Olympia, Washington area since opening.
Artesian Place is a beautiful 3-story building in the quiet and conveniently located medical district of west side Olympia and the Black Lake area. The building with beautiful finishes and various resident spaces features 60 apartments, 48 large studio and 12 1-bedroom apartments divided amongst three floors, each with access to stairs and elevator. The unique layout and multi-level allows for an intimate feel on each floor, but the benefits of a larger resident population and community. Each apartment hosts their own kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, and bathroom including roll-in accessible shower. The first floor is home to our dining room and resident kitchen spaces and features bright hallways and a large and zen-like outdoor patio and gardening space off the back of the dining room. Each floor provides residents access to non-pay laundry facilities as desired, bright hallways with resident seating areas throughout, as well as a resident use space unique to each floor; from a resident kitchen and resident mail on the first floor, activity room on the second floor, and library as well as loft with TV and pool table on the third floor.
The team at Artesian Place pride themselves on the quality and caring manner in which they work with the residents and serve the greater community. Our robust activity and life enrichment programming are geared to resident preferences and include Bingo, music and other entertainment performances, scheduled trips to stores and other desired local locations, and wonderful scenic drives and enjoyment of all the area has to offer!

Assisted Living combines the privacy of individual apartments with community living. We provide three nutritious meals in a resident dining room, appropriate and engaging daily activities, assistance with transportation to appointments, and weekly housekeeping/laundry services. We then work with you as a team to design a personalized care plan (or “service plan” per industry) to identify those additional daily tasks that require our caring and professional assistance with personalized approach tailored to your specific needs.

We want each resident to remain as independent and active as possible and to enjoy every day in their community.

Regardless of the care model in place, it is ultimately the caregiver that makes the real difference. For this reason, we strive to ensure our caregivers have the right heart, the right mindset, and the needed compassion to truly provide memory care for those navigating the difficult battle through Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other forms of memory loss.
We view each day as a treasure hunt. Each one of our residents has treasures that have been buried by dementia and our job is to uncover them by getting to know who our residents are and were. We strive to understand their reality instead of fighting to get them to adhere to ours. We adapt to these realities and attempt to validate and ease any concerns, genuine or perceived. Our model of care creates an environment that works to significantly reduce the fear, frustration, agitation, and anxiety that normally results from Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other forms of memory loss. Our Caring Places communities strive to maintain the leading edge and set the industry standard for specialized dementia care. We do this by working to keep in the loop and up to date of industry research and development by attending and providing continuing education, and by implementing and striving to maintain a care approach that is focused on the individual, their needs, and how we can work with the resident within their own strengths and limitations to best meet those needs.
Independent Living apartments are located within our beautiful property and have access to all the amenities! With a total of 13 various Independent Living apartments, they provide floor plan options including 2 large 2-bedroom units with full kitchens and bathrooms with tubs, 2 spacious 2-bedroom apartments with full kitchens and bathrooms with step in showers, and 8 1-bedroom apartments with kitchenette and bathroom with step in shower; available depending on resident preference, need, and unit floor plan availability. Independent Living includes access to a non-pay resident laundry room, a light housekeeping service weekly, meals provided in a dining area for family style eating, and activities engaging and entertaining for those wanting to attend.
