Who We Are

Founder and Chairman of the Board Stephen L. Rosedale established the CommuniCare Family of Companies in 1984. As a young man, Steve worked in various healthcare environments and developed a passion for caring. He continued to study the art and science of aging at Brandeis University, where he sparked a close relationship with Professor Morrie Schwartz (of the famous book, Tuesdays with Morrie).

A concept that struck a chord in his heart and has since remained vibrant is the concept of therapeutic milieu. This is the impact of a holistic environment, comprised of people, clinical programs, and physical environments that create a healing environment where a person can thrive. Since then, Steve has been on a mission to build caring communities that cater to the unspoken needs of our guests and residents.

A family-owned company, we have grown to become one of the nation's largest providers of post-acute care, which includes skilled nursing rehabilitation centers, long-term care centers, assisted living communities, independent rehabilitation centers and long-term acute care hospitals (LTACH).

Each and every one of our employee's primary importance stems from our philosophy: Serving with Pride. We recognize that we are called to reach out with our hearts and touch the lives of others. This recognition instills a great sense of purpose in the work we do each day. As a result, we take immense pride in our opportunity to deliver the highest quality of care. We remind ourselves daily that we have to serve with pride and this energizes us in our mission, to give the gift of life to each and every guest and resident of the CommuniCare Family of Companies.

A line from our CEO's favorite book, The Little Prince captures the demeanor of the care we provide, saying, It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

Skilled Nursing Rehabilitation: The CommuniCare Approach

When skilled nursing rehabilitation is necessary, it's our goal to help you get home safely and as quickly as possible.

Our experienced team of professionals coordinates with your doctor while focusing on you as an individual. With your specific needs in mind, we develop a plan of therapy, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and recovery that's designed to help you heal sooner and get home safely and as quickly as possible.

As an organization, we are committed to delivering person-centered recovery care, and our greatest success is achieved when we watch you leave healthy, happy, and back to your home and family. Our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team includes physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists, and skilled care coordinators, all in an effort to ensure a complete circle of care.

Our clinical skilled nursing care and rehabilitation specialties include traditional therapy services, as well as recovery programs for complex medical conditions.

In certain locations, CommuniCare health services also offer a dedicated environment strictly for guests requiring skilled nursing rehabilitation and recovery. These environments are unique in their spa-like decor, hotel-like amenities, and expertise in all areas of nursing rehabilitation and complex medical conditions. At CommuniCare, we call these our Advance 360 Progressive Rehabilitation and Recovery Centers. These centers are among those leading our nation with the most unique environments healthcare has to offer today.

Assisted Living Communities at CommuniCare For older adults, aging is a time of decreased functioning and increased dependence. But as with all individuals, their needs are unique. For some, a skilled nursing center would provide more healthcare than necessary. On the other hand, living on one's own may be too difficult. CommuniCare can help. Our assisted living communities provide a combination of housing, personal care services, nursing, and healthcare, all in a supportive living community that promotes maximum independence, privacy, and choice for residents who prefer not to live alone, but who don't require 24-hour care. Our assisted living and semi assisted living environments are designed to be welcoming and home-like while supporting the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of our residents. Choices begin with assisted living accommodations designed for those who prefer privacy, as well as those who don't care to live alone. When available, we have conveniently located our assisted living communities on the same campus as our nursing centers, enabling residents to easily access physical therapy programs, as well as occupational and speech therapy, if needs arise. As requirements change and long-term, assisted senior care concerns to need to be addressed, our center represents a natural transition within a familiar environment.

How long will authorities allow the abuse and negligence at this facility to continue. People seem to forget that elected officials are not elected to make money or to serve only those who pay under the table or behind closed doors but they are elected to serve the people I.E. ALLTHE PEOPLE - INCLUDING THOSE WHO HAVE LIVED MOST OF THEIR LIFE AND MAY BE AT THE END DOESNT MATTER YOUR STILL ELECTED TO SERVE THEM - SO START ( Especially when you believe noone is watching or caring ) . STEP UP OR STEP OUT !

My sister was sent here from another nursing home. Previous nursing home would not deal with her psych issues even though they told us they would. The previous nursing home did not regulate her diabetes which is dangerous to her physical health. When she got to wyant woods within 2 weeks she was much better. It's not a five star nursing home it's a nursing home for mentally ill and it gets a five-star for the way they take care of and treat and respect the patients there that nobody else wants to handle. It's always been clean it's never had any smells, staff is always available and my sister has absolutely thrived there. I appreciate how they've helped her become better and I hope she stays there for a long Time to get the care she needs! Thank you Wyant woods for respecting her, giving her dignity and taking care of all the psychiatric patients that other nursing homes failed to care for.

I care for a very high-level care woman who has mental health issues as well as Dementia. This is one of the few places that would accept a patient with all of these issues, which I commend them for. The patient care that she received was always wonderful. The people who work here truly care for the patient and from the Office to the patient care floors they do their best to take care of these people and treat them with respect. We have had very low-level care in other facilities, and I would rather send them to Wyant Woods to be cared for than somewhere fancy that treats their patients like gum on their shoe. The Dementia and Alzheimer's unit should get 5 stars all the way around. The Nursing and STNAs on this level are amazing and I will miss their care and kindness for someone who is very difficult to be kind to. The building is not fancy. It is run down and older. The people who work there do their very best to keep things clean and care for these high-level care patients at all times. They are VERY understaffed - as are all nursing homes - and are in need of cleaning staff to help them. The company that owns them should be giving them more in this aspect. The employees deserve to be cared for as well as the patients. Thank You Wyant Woods for everything you did and will continue to do without recognition. May you be blessed beyond measure.
