Woodlands Memory Care of Bridgton is a memory care community in Bridgton, Maine, designed exclusively for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related memory impairments. The 24,000 square-foot, purpose-built facility opened in December 2022 and is the first ground-up memory care community in the Bridgton area. It accommodates 48 residents in 16 private and 16 shared rooms.
The community provides 24/7 care with specially trained staff. Services included in the monthly rental fee are assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility; basic nursing services including health monitoring and simple wound dressing; and therapeutic activity programming specifically designed for individuals with memory impairments. The community is licensed as a residential care facility and does not offer skilled nursing services, though residents may arrange onsite skilled nursing and therapy through an established local provider or another provider of their choice.
The facility features abundant natural light through a central atrium, multiple home-like areas including a television room, reading room, activity room, resident kitchen, and common area with fireplace. A large outside courtyard includes walking paths, gardens, and a gazebo. An onsite beauty salon, physical and occupational therapy center, and climate-controlled individual rooms support resident comfort and engagement.
All staff members, from executives to dietary personnel, complete The CARES© Approach, a nationally recognized person-centered training program for dementia caregivers. Personal Care Attendants complete a required 50-hour Maine Department of Health and Human Services training program, and Certified Residential Medication Aides complete a required 40-hour medication administration program. The community accepts a limited number of MaineCare-subsidized residents through a Provider Agreement with Maine's Department of Health and Human Services.
