When you’re searching for placement for a loved one, nothing quite prepares you for how overwhelming it truly is. You’re making one of the most important decisions of your life, often under pressure and with so much uncertainty. From the very first call with the admissions department at Whitehall of Deerfield, I felt like someone was actually walking alongside us — not just processing paperwork.

The admissions process was handled with so much care and professionalism. Every question I had was answered, every concern was addressed, and I never felt rushed or dismissed. That same level of support carried all the way through to discharge planning. The continuity alone gave our family confidence that we had made the right choice.

Now, I’ll be honest — I had heard that the facility was a bit dated, and I won’t pretend otherwise. There are areas that could use some updating. But I want to be very clear: do not let that discourage you, because what happens inside those walls is what truly matters. The staff at Whitehall are something special. They are present, they are compassionate, and they genuinely care. You can feel it. My father felt it.

My father made a wonderful recovery, and we are so grateful. I hope we don’t need skilled nursing care again anytime soon, but if we do, I already know exactly where we’re going — and so will everyone in our family and circle of friends.

Thank you, Whitehall, for taking care of our father like she was your own.

My mom was at Whitehall of Deerfield for rehab and we had a really good experience. Everybody was nice and helpful, but I especially wanted to mention Donna in the business office. I was so confused with all the insurance papers, bills, and questions I had, and Donna took the time to explain everything to me. She never made me feel like I was bothering her, even when I asked the same thing more than once. The nurses and therapy staff were great too and took good care of my mom. The building is always clean and there was always someone around if we needed help. When you have a family member in a rehab center, it can be stressful, but having people like Donna there made things a lot easier. She really cares and it shows. It’s hard to find people who are that patient and willing to help these days. Thank you to Donna and the whole Whitehall team for everything you did for our family.

Our experience at Whitehall of Deerfield has been incredibly positive, especially when it came to wound care and social services. My loved one arrived with a complex wound that required close monitoring and specialized treatment. The wound care team was knowledgeable, thorough, and always willing to explain the treatment plan and progress. We saw steady improvement and felt confident knowing they were in such capable hands. I also want to recognize Brittany Murphy, Director of Social Services. Brittany was a tremendous support to our family throughout the entire stay. She was compassionate, responsive, and always available to answer questions or help navigate challenges. Whether coordinating care, planning for discharge, or simply checking in to see how we were doing, she made what could have been an overwhelming process much easier. The staff at Whitehall truly work together as a team, and it shows. We always felt informed, respected, and included in decisions. Knowing that people genuinely cared about both the physical and emotional well-being of our loved one meant so much to us. Thank you to Brittany, the wound care department, and the entire Whitehall team for the outstanding care and support. We are very grateful for everything you did for our family.

I just wanted to share how happy our family has been with Whitehall of Deerfield. The care has been wonderful from day one. The staff is not only skilled and attentive, but they are genuinely kind and caring. You can tell they really get to know the residents and treat them like people, not just patients.

Another thing that always stands out to me is how clean the facility is. Every time I visit, the rooms and common areas are neat, clean, and well cared for. It makes a big difference when you’re trusting others with the care of a loved one.

I recently noticed the signs about the upcoming renovation, and I can’t wait to see the finished result. Honestly, the care is already top-notch, so it’s exciting to know the building itself is getting some updates too.

No place is perfect, but Whitehall has given us peace of mind during a difficult time. We are grateful for the nurses, therapists, aides, and everyone else who works so hard every day. Thank you for all that you do.
