I am currently a patient here now. I have been in several other nursing homes/rehabilitation centers due to a series of medical events in the past few years.
I was here four months ago after a stroke. They helped me very much. I was unable to do pretty much anything by myself. Everybody here is patient, kind, cheerful and helpful. They had to teach me how to do a lot of things over again. I returned home once I was able to take care of myself.
Now I am back BY CHOICE after having hip surgery. Once again, I have my own private room which I LOVE. The food is very good and well thought out.
I was a caregiver for twenty years. My patients ranged from slightly to severely disabled, both mentally and physically. As a result, I know how much work and coordination goes into caring for someone.
I have seen many nursing and rehab homes over the years as a caregiver. Now I am 'on the other end of the stick' and am a patient myself.
I choose Whispering Pines because I feel that they are the best place I have ever encountered.
It is a bit of a drive for my family, but worth it. I have two other nursing homes/rehab facilities in my hometown. Convenient, but I would rather stay in a good home than a convenient home.
The hip surgery I had is just for a temporary spacer. In three to twelve months I will be getting my permanent one put in.
And I will ask to go back to Whispering Pines in Ripon again.
I highly recommend this place!

My grandfather was here from November 2025 till just 2 weeks ago. He suffers with sever Dementia. The experience we have had with them has been AWEFUL to say the least. They never communicated with us what was happening with him, his room was filthy and his bed sheets were soiled when we came and visited him. They sent him to a psychiatric facility without consulting me and my grandmother first and for reason that were not valid for his condition. We didn't find out until we drove up there to see him only to find he was not there. There were unpleasant accusations that were made from the young "nurses" that clearly were never educated on how Dementia works and what behavioral changes that the patients might go through who have this disease. Toward the end of his time here before transfer, they lied on all of his paperwork just to get rid of him because they didn't want to deal with it or help him. And when he was transferred, not all of his belongings were sent with him.
I am DISGUSTED at how this whole situation has gone down, and I am talking with a lawyer to take legal action because of this experience. This facility needs to be investigated and definitely need more trained caregivers because clearly they have no idea what to do when taking care of someone.
PLEASE, STRONGLY RECONSIDER BEFORE SENDING A LOVED ONE HERE!!!!

Would NOT recommend. I was in Whispering Pines for physical therapy for a badly broken leg. Their PTs and OT were really good. Most of the nurses were very friendly and knowledgeable. About half of the CNAs were friendly. Tiffany and Simon were wonderful. Most just came in, did their job, and left. No really friendly interaction or asking if I needed anything else. Two in particular should NOT even work in a nursing home. One of them refused to let me talk to my nurse. When I hit the call light, it would take 20-30 minutes for a CNA to come and ask what I needed. NEVER, EVER need help during a mealtime. TWICE , I was stuck in my wheelchair during lunch. I was in a lot of pain and I couldn't sit back far enough in the chair and I was afraid that I was going to fall off the chair. No one cared. I called for help several times and I kept being told that they were busy serving lunch! I even used my cell to call the facility's main number to ask for help. Same story--they're busy with lunch. Both times, I had to wait over 90 minutes to get back into bed! When they FINALLY came in the first time, I was so scared of falling out of the chair, in so much pain and so FRUSTRATED that I was crying! AND THEN--NOBODY TOLD ME THAT INSURANCE WOULD KICK ME OUT AT 30 DAYS! I can't put any weight on my injured leg for 12 weeks. I can't walk! I am in a wheelchair. I had 48 hours notice that I had to leave. I DIDN'T HAVE A WHEELCHAIR RAMP FOR MY HOUSE!! And the doctor dropped the ball on arranging my personal wheelchair and walker to be delivered to the facility. My poor husband and daughter had to go to Sun Prairie to disassemble and bring home a ramp on Thursday, and then had to put it back together on Friday before I came home!! We were just incredibly lucky that we found a ramp in our area that was long enough and that we could afford. AND THEN--YOU CAN NOT TELL ME that the people at Whispering Pines did not know most insurances max out at 30 days!! The doctor, the nurses, the SOCIAL WORKERS!! None of them were surprised after I got the news, and quite a few said that they'd seen it before. I WAS THERE FOR 4 WEEKS! SOMEBODY could have told me that I had a time limit!! I am really angry and upset with how I was treated at Whispering Pines. But I have my wits about me, an incredible support team at home, and I'm very resourceful with my cell phone. How many patients at Whispering Pines DO NOT have those advantages? I can't imagine what happens to those poor people!
