Little over a year, I had a family member there, when they were admitted there in little over 24 hr, we were back at the hospital, why???
Well, that morning, I walked in he was laying half naked clothes soak in urine, for quite sometime, he didnt get his meds that was needed,
I asked what was his blood levels were,
The rn told me they couldnt check his blood sugar, I ask why, they said they are not allowed to, ( which by the way was suppose to be check for times daily)
The reason I ask is because he wasn’t coherent, I forced them to take his blood sugar count to find out that is was dangerously low,
He didn’t get meds the way there were prescribed,,
He was transported to the hospital,
Each one of the staff even office personnel should undergo what these worse reviews have to endure with this place, and then they may understand why these ratings are NOT 4 or 5 star rating,
Just extra info,,,
I was told day one they didnt have bariatric wheelchairs, however, I found out different, I was told by one of there staff they do have them but the were locked up in a shed out back, they do have a van but it’s broke down
One last thing ,,,, all of them will get old someday,
Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you

I do not recommend this facility to future residents or the environment itself is hostile you witness abuse every day just by coming and visiting your family you realize how neglected and mistreated the residents are not just the certified aides but the dietary front office and nurses station is nothing but ignorant and un welcoming staff everyone is completely clueless it's an everyday issue with this rundown nursing home that we're supposed to call home for our family and friends

I went to Westwood hills for rehabilitation after 2 extensive surgeries. I was treated terribly, neglected, I went in and They put my catheter in wrong, denied me my medication, left me on the commode for over an hour with no string to call for help. The lights did not work. My bathroom was always locked. I was hooked to i.v.s, wound vac, catheter etc. I would buzz to have help me to the restroom with machines and a walker. So I made it in there and bled all the way there and back to bed. Since I was there the director of Westwood hills, has quit. They wouldn't come help me. I could go on and on. But I survived 19 days there. I would not send my worst enemy there to Westwood hills in poplar bluff Mo.

my family member was here for therapy after spendin time in the hospital and was very weak. when i came he told me his nurse has to use a walker to come change his bandages! he thought another resident had got lost and came in his room…..he said she did not clean his wound right and he had to tell her how to do it like the nurses in the hospital did….. he was so worried hes wound was going to get infected… she is a very nice lady when i spoke with her but I thought this has to be a joke! i was once an CNA so i asked if there was another nurse and they say no but there is a tech that passes all the meds so that nurse only has to do certain things. wat would u do if u needed a nurse fast??… makes me uneasy!!! he was very please wit therapy and they have got him very much stronger!! most of the aids are good but he asked for a shower and didnt get one for days witch i kno they r very busy!!! u can hear them complain on 2nd shifts about theyre job and not having help… just like everywhere the good comes wit the bad ig!
