C. I chose this facility for mom. Nearly every day I ask for forgiveness for my decision. If your loved one needs help dressing, is at risk for falling, needs help to the bathroom, this is not facility I would recommend. My mom only lived there three months before struggling to get out of a recliner that was supposed to keep her sitting and fell, only to die 12 days later. There is not enough staff to help all the residents in need. I can not read the minds or intentions of the staff, but I saw a lack of awareness over the people in their care. People were falling, people were pledging for help from their rooms, people were told their husband had died two years ago, when looking for help to leave the facility, traumatizing the resident. It's just a sad situation there. Even through the facility looks nice, it is lacking in help, in my opinion. Be aware of your loved ones needs and assess if your loved one is strong enough to live here.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the exceptional care my mom received during her four years at Westwind Memory Care. The management is enlightened, and the staff is both caring and highly knowledgeable, creating a safe and supportive environment for residents. The medical care provided was reliable and effective, and the home-cooked meals—prepared with fresh ingredients—were outstanding. Residents were always offered three meals and two snacks daily, ensuring they were well-nourished. What truly sets this facility apart is their compassionate approach to working with dementia patients. The staff treated my mom with dignity, understanding, and kindness, meeting her unique needs in ways that brought us peace of mind. In addition, the daily activities were thoughtfully designed to engage residents, keeping them busy and enriched throughout the day. While the cost of care is significant, the rates at Westwind Memory Care are comparable to other facilities offering similar care in Santa Cruz County. We cannot thank the team enough for the love, respect, and care they showed to my mom and to us as a family. I wholeheartedly recommend Westwind Memory Care to anyone seeking memory care for their loved ones with dementia.

Westwind is the BEST memory care facility I have ever seen. We needed to move our elderly aunt from her home because 24/7 care is VERY pricey and we needed to get her closer to family. We were so thrilled when we discovered Westwind. The building is gorgeous and the staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. They helped us with the transition and even worked as advocates for us when a certain medical group who shall remain nameless was lagging on her medical records. I can sleep at night knowing we placed our aunt in a safe and caring environment. She loves the activities and we enjoy visiting. We are very grateful to have found Westwind!
