Westmont has been a HUGE disappointment. The facility is lovely and in the sales pitch, they promise everything and deliver VERY little. The staff turnover is shocking and there is always a shortage and promises of “the new person starting next week.” We have witnessed over several months, that “the new person” never stays more than a couple of weeks! The management is horrible. Like other reviews have said, no one returns a phone call and trying to hunt someone down in person is a joke. We have had major issues in the cleanliness of the room, and must constantly hound them to BATHE my mother in law or change the bedsheets! If you call sitting people in front of a television “activities,” then maybe this is your place. Sadly, we are now tasked with finding another facility that will actually CARE for our loved one. Westmont needs some serious management overhaul and maybe PAY your employees so that they stay! You are certainly charging US a boat-load for sub-par care.

What a wonderful place to live. The facility is very nice and clean. They have amenities like a fitness center, salon, library, theater, pool table, grand piano, and more. Residents are happy and social. Their calendar is full of fun activities and special events for residents to stay busy and entertained. Staff is very hard working and they genuinely care about their residents.

If I could give less than 1 star I would, this place is absolutely terrible! Do not let your loved one live here, they are constantly short staffed, you can never get a phone call back let alone an email, even corporate never calls or emails you back! Spend your hard earned money somewhere else. In response to the auto-message- I have called and left messages, I have been in, in-person and asked to speak with Jade, the front desk always says the managers aren't in and they never call you back.

I visited Westmont Senior Living of Santa Barbara with my 92 year old mother. The staff was professional, authentically caring, easy to communicate with, and responsive. The facility was warm, home-like and roomy without being overwhelming and extensive. There is variety of care and every resident has their own apartment. There are plenty of social and stimulating activities. I was impressed by the facility and how it is managed.

Our journey with Westmont of Santa Barbara began with Miss Peggy. Meeting her was like coming home! Making the decision to place your loved one in a care facility is very stressful and one riddled with intense emotions, meeting Peggy made me know in my gut that this was the right place for my mom. We flew my mom in from a different state and we were not able to bring her during the normal intake hours. Despite this, the Westmont team went above and beyond to accommodate us and made the transition as smooth and comforting as possible. Miss Cindy is an absolute gem! Her warmth, patience, and compassion shine through every interaction. No matter how busy or challenging her day may be, she always greets me with a smile, a hug, and kind words. She’s talked me off the wall more than once when I was having moments of doubt, guilt and sadness. No facility is going to be perfect; it is people caring for people. I entered Westmont of Santa Barbara wanting to establish a relationship with the staff, the people that I am entrusting the well-being of my mom. I find that it is important to be a collaborative member of her care team. Loli, Gian, Omar, and Masami are treasures. My mom loves them, and more importantly, she feels safe, respected, and cared for. Their presence brings peace to both of us, and for that, I am deeply grateful! - Michele C.
