I've had the unfortunate experience of having several relatives pass recently, each going to different facilities around the area. Was happy with how professional the RN team was who took care of my grandpa. Jizelle(sp) and Christine went above and beyond when at other facilities it felt like a fight for my family members to be treated like human beings and not statistics. Thank you.

My father is 96 years old. He arrived at this facility in need of physical therapy for a compression fracture, having lived independently up until this point at home by himself, a fact that speaks to both his resilience and how seriously we took his recovery. We took his CARE just as seriously. The facility, apparently, did not. The plan called for PT multiple times daily. In practice, he was fortunate to see a therapist once a day. REST, as any medical professional will tell you, is foundational to recovery…. yet there were no quiet hours enforced, and his roommate was permitted to run a television and other devices through the night, every night. A nearly 97-year-old man, recovering from a spinal injury, was simply expected to sleep through it. He couldn't. And when you're too exhausted to fully participate in physical therapy, the therapy doesn't work. These things are connected. Then there is the matter of basic dignity. My father was instructed to press the call button when he needed bathroom assistance and warned that due to staffing shortages, someone might not arrive quickly. The proposed solution? And I want to be precise here, because this deserves to be stated plainly: staff suggested he simply soil himself and wait to be cleaned up!! At a REHABILITATION FACILITY!!!. They say this to a nearly 100 year old man trying to recover his independence. Does this even come close to the bar of acceptable patient care?? I can’t even get started on the food… it was so gross… we ended up bringing him in his own food. I want to be VERY CLEAR about one thing: almost every staff member I personally spoke with was kind, compassionate, and clearly committed to their patients. THEY are not the problem. They are, in fact, the victims of the same institutional failures as the patients…. overworked, understaffed, and almost certainly underpaid, stretched thin across a facility that appears to be operating at the leanest possible margins. When a care facility's staffing model requires patients to be told to manage incontinence alone, that is not a workforce problem. That is a leadership and ownership decision. If your loved one needs rehabilitation and you are considering this facility, I would encourage you to ask very specific questions: What is the patient-to-staff ratio?… both during the day and during nighttime hours…. Are quiet hours enforced?… if so HOW?…. What is the guaranteed minimum PT frequency?…. The answers, or the discomfort with which they are given, will be instructive

After having a bad experience at another facility, Wellspring really turned things around and helped us take care of mom up until the end. The staff were kind and caring and always willing to listen, help, advise us on options and support us. Going through all of this was a really difficult experience, but my mind was always at ease knowing she was being well cared for.

I’ve been to multiple skilled nursing facilities and have witnessed different experiences at each of them. Wellspring is a facility where you see the nursing staff work together and very compassionate about helping the residents they serve. The therapy team at Wellspring is fantastic and really strive to get you or your family member home. Overall, Wellspring is an exceptional place to go to for either rehabilitation or Long term care.
