The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The electronic entry system was efficient which is close to what have done in other places before. The directions within the facility for the room numbers were very clear and easy to follow. I was quite impressed with this facility and the staff and the cleanliness.

My experience with Walnut Creek Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center involved a billing dispute that took more than three years to resolve. The facility billed my 101-year-old uncle $1,425, claiming he had remained two days beyond his Medicare-covered stay. However, a Kaiser-affiliated physician had extended his stay for an additional two days of observation after he returned from the Kaiser Walnut Creek Emergency Department. What should have been a simple correction became a lengthy ordeal. Despite numerous phone calls, emails, letters, and other communications with both Kaiser and the facility, neither organization initially acknowledged that the physician had authorized the extension. The matter remained unresolved for more than three years, including an extensive complaint process with the California Department of Public Health. Although the Department initially did not substantiate my complaint, it later reversed course and ultimately confirmed that my complaint was substantiated. Sadly, my uncle passed away in May 2024 at the age of 103 before the matter was fully resolved. More than three years after the disputed charges were incurred, Kaiser finally paid the $1,425 bill. While I received verbal apologies from Kaiser, I never received any acknowledgment or apology from the facility. In my view, no family should have to spend years correcting what should have been a straightforward billing error involving an elderly patient

My mom was in this facility for a month in spring 2026 after she fell and broke her hip. I was really nervous at first but the staff was outstanding. Everyone was so kind and caring and responsive to my many questions and concerns. The CNAs were great, really helpful with even the smallest request. Every person on the PT and OT staff is incredible! They all really care about each patient and work hard to help them progress. My heart swells with gratitude to them all, especially Ian who was always smiling and patient and made the sessions fun for my mom even when it really hurt to do the work. Ariel was wonderful as well on the therapy team! We were welcome to be at the facility any time we wanted during visiting hours and often went to my mom's therapy sessions or sat in the dining hall during meals or participated in activities with her, which was a good sign because it shows they have nothing to hide. The staff is very attentive and they treat everyone with respect. Nancy at the front desk was another highlight of every visit. When I toured the facility before my mom was admitted, her smiling welcome at the front calmed my nerves and made me realize it was going to be OK. The liaisons at the facility made my mom's transition home easy. I am so grateful to WC Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
