I have been apart of the company for over a year now. It’s by far my favorite I have worked for! Everything is very professional and straightforward. Jessica who works in the office for visiting angels is absolutely amazing. Gives very fast reply’s and works around anything that needs to happen and cares a lot about her employees and her clients!

I was looking for in-home assistance for my mother and I recalled having seen Visiting Angels commercials on television in the past, so after reading local reviews and with a 4.8 rating, I thought it was a no-brainer. I would have been driving down from Indy so I called a couple of times to make sure I understood their process, which began with a telephone interview, and I concluded things could best be accomplished via a conference including the Visiting Angel interviewer, my mother and me, so I could avoid an unnecessary trip to Bloomington. The day we decided on the interview (we had been told to simply call, no appt necessary), I called ahead of time to ensure the interviewer would be available. I was told she was in a closed-door meeting, but she'd call as soon as she got out. Waited about 4 hours with no callback. Decided to call again only this time she was out to lunch--at 2pm. It has now been 4 days with no callback. Not waiting, of course, as there are better services out there for your loved ones. I will, however, echo "Katie V's" sentiments: there is an air of defensiveness about the folks at this establishment when talking with them. Obviously, there are happy customers, which I suppose is contingent largely on the individual "angel." But from my experience with the staff, I would research other companies. This one behaves as if they don't need your business. 01/14/2026: I think it is important to to be as accurate as possible in portraying any business in on-line reviews. While my initial review stands as written, it is also important to recognize that two representatives have reached out to me in response to my review and sincerely apologized, noting this is not how they normally conduct business. Apologies accepted and I take them at their word--it was just a bad day and we all have them occasionally. Moving forward, I would consider engaging Visiting Angel again as the need arises.

A friend of mine uses Visiting Angel. A year ago I noticed that there was a slippery place on the floor. I asked her "angel" to please clean it up. She was sitting on the couch on her cell phone. She said that they had cleaning service in the community, which is true, but it's once a week and my friend can't see and has fallen several times in the past. I went into another room and when I came out she told me she looked but there weren't any cleaning supplies. She didn't ask someone to come get it.. She didn't figure out a way, she went back to the couch to be on her phone. So, I got a hand towel from the bathroom and cleaned it myself. Was I wrong to assume that the person they pay for 20 hours a week should watch out for her safety? So, I called Visiting Angels, very upset, and was NOT the most pleasant person to talk to. When the person in charge of employees talked to me she was angry and defensive and told me that the family doesn't complain and that this angle has worked for many people in that facility and been wonderful. Also, I'm not family so it would have to be them who said something. Basically, I was ignored. Fast forward. I was out of town for 10 months. I just got back and went to see my friend. Her place is cluttery, dusty, garbage overflowing in kitchen and bathroom. The "angel" had been there Saturday. This was Monday morning. I was irritated. I told a nurse on the floor and an CNN took the trash out immediately. Why didn't her angel ask? I noticed some pills on the floor by her bed. There were two days worth of heart meds and other misc pills, crackers and crumbs... and a roach. I was going to go talk to the facility supervisor but noticed clutter under the desk and thought I would clean that up. I picked it up and about a dozen roaches came out.. Big ones, babies.. Why was the clutter there so long that a colony had developed? Her "angel" is there 5 days a week and does her homework at that computer. Why didn't she just pick up? Why didn't she tell the nurse that my friend was dropping her meds on the floor? I told the nurse who was very concerned and promised to make sure all the pills went INTO my friend. I talked to the head of nursing who told me she would be talking to Visiting Angels and get the problem fixed. I have to trust her that something was done because I am not family and don't have any authority. My friend was mad at me for reporting her "angel." I am sad that she doesn't want to see me, but I would NEVER leave ANY human being in that situation. Not to mention 80+years old and nearly blind. I think the biggest mistake Visiting Angels made was getting mad at me instead of addressing a problem. I am angry and deeply frustrated that my pleas for improvement were ignored a year ago. With the experience I have had I do not recommend.
