I was only a visitor but my friend indicted the she was being treated nicely and professionally. Her rehab was great for her and she was very happy with every treatment. She also has happy to have her nails done and was waiting to have her haircut. I was happy at seeing her being content being there. She said that everyone there was very nice to her. Furthermore, she was happy with the menu. Just want to add, she is a 95 or old woman who has all her faculties and deserves being treated well. Amen.

The facility itself was first class. I was disappointed in the amount of staff available to assist the patients, definitely lacking in number. Several had very bad attitudes, unwilling to assist if the patient wasn't "their" patient. They would just ignore your plea for even a slight assist.Most were kind but definitely overwhelmed. The food was not good and went down hill as my stay continued. I did appreciate the chef salads. The Physical and Occupational Therapists were fantastic, every one of them! They encouraged but didn't let us be lazy either. Generally the facility was clean and tidy. Only once did we have to request that the shared restroom have the floor cleaned which was taken care of right away. I was VERY disappointed in the money spent to honor nurses and staff. Balloons, tee shirts, and all the extras for the two weeks would have been better spent providing bonuses or additional staff. You would keep staff longer if you paid them more.

My moms stay at the Villages rehab was good. It served its purpose to help mom get back home and on the road to recovery. The PT dept was excellent, led by Peggy, and facilitated by Shakira, Nora, Theresa and Jennifer The food services dept was also very good. Michael, Juicy” was professional and personable. He made mom laugh. Which was very important! The custodial staff was outstanding keeping the room clean! Thanks to the great lady (I can’t remember her name) on the 500 wing! Samantha, with her colourful hair and bright smile, brought joy to everyone and planned the greatest activities! The reasons that you didn’t receive a perfect score is that the communication between the change of shifts CNAs and RNs was lacking in my opinion. It made it hard for consistent care. It seemed that we had a different person for every shift. They weren’t familiar with my mom’s injuries or pre existing issues which would have helping in aiding her. It was better when Kerry and Yvonne were on duty. Also, Wilma, Sher, Selena, and Brian were very good. Patricia was also a good leader and patiently worked with my stepdad to get things done. The CNAs, whatever their ratios were, seemed slow to respond. It would help to create a system that would help the CNAs to be able to check to see what the patient needs when they press their button and to communicate when they can return to assist. At least then there would be some time frame. Obviously the more emergent needs would come first. Lastly, it might benefit the facility to have mandatory customer service training for all staff to periodically remind them of the care and compassion the patients needs in a very difficult time of their lives. I would like to also thank the front desk and administrators (Sue, Amanda, and ) for their help. The only issue was that the admission forms were brought in to be signed shortly before mom was discharged. I thought that it was a very delayed action on the business offices part. Overall, the Villages Rehab Center was a good place to help mom attain her outcome to heal enough to return home. Thank you for your attention to this comment card. Sincerely…

My 1st impression visiting center greetings the ambience of the environment pacience, friendly smiles from staffs, i was impressed with the CNA feeding my mother very patient , seeing and hearing my mom eats with % making rounds so impressive My .mom's room clean, warm and relaxing eating warm. LPN/RN /wound tect took time to explain everything before discharged along with social worker team.I happy with the food service because mom ate. Even the residence the people looks so relaxed .So much to be said all I want to say Thank You for hospitality I am sure to recommend others to visit. God bless everyone.

This facility should not be considered a rehab facility for head and brain injuries. We never had to put my mom in rehab for any reason but after a fall at her assisted living facility we had to make a decision on where she should go for rehab at 90 years old. She was alert, had appetite and could walk more than 50' without a walker. I noticed that they kept my mom in a wheelchair or in bed. I asked why and they said it was standard for head trauma. I went by every day and she was not getting better, infact her condition was worsening. I tried to speak with her nurses and therapist daily to check her progress. They were dropping a tray on moms side table and come back an hour later and take the tray away without questions on why it didn't look as if she had eaten anything. I started going in at lunch and stayed until I fed her dinner. Her condition was worsening and I was asking the nurse every day why her condition was declining. I asked a nurse when I walked in one day if mom had eaten yet? Her reply was "How would I know?" I said "if you are her nurse you should know!" My daughter and I went in to visit the next day and my mom's head was stuck sideways so I asked what happened and no one had an answer. That night my daughter and I had made a plan to remove my mom from this facility. We both were crying about how bad my mom got while being at a "rehab" The next morning my daughter headed to the facility and I waited for her to call me and then I called 911 to have an ambulance go to the facility and remove my mom taking her back to the hospital at UF Health in the Villages. They were completely surprised at her condition and how she had declined while in rehab. She spent 5 days in the hospital trying to recover from the neglect she received at Villages rehab. Do not take your loved one here if they can't advocate for themself!! Absolutely the worst experience ever!!
