This building has been a huge blessing to my family. My ex-husband had a health emergency living on the east coast and needed a facility. We wanted him to live closer to our son in Boise. The people at Valley View came through for us, but that doesn't compare to the welcome we received once we arrived. His nurse and CNA immediately made him feel comfortable. Admissions and business office also came to make sure he had everything he needed. The unit manager, social worker, medical records - everyone has been friendly and helpful every step of the way. His housekeeper does a great job and has a pleasant conversation with him everyday. He is enjoying activities and eats every bite of the delicious food they serve. This has been a great experience that has far exceeded expectations.

I have been very upset. My ex-husband is in the rehab center , They continually split his urinal on his eating tray cart, he spilled his urinal on the floor and it was not cleaned up the next day when I went. His call light goes unanswered for hours, and he has to yell for help because he’s legally blind, and can’t walk at this time. his bedding was filthy. His clothes were filthy and not changed each day. I came in yesterday and he was poopy and they came a couple hours later. Very upset at the way he’s being treated. It’s sad, seeing a grown man cry.

Managers, nursing supervisors, and most of the CNAs were caring, diligent, and truly wonderful for my mom's care. Karla and Brie were superstars. My mom stayed at the skilled nursing facility for two weeks to gain her strength back before she went back home. Physical and occupational therapy options on site were helpful, and the therapists were patient and understanding. The facility is not modern, but it was clean and functional. Patients with an advocate who spends time at the facility do much better than those who don't, which is probably the case for most skilled nursing facilities. Without an advocate when she first arrived, my mother would not have received her medications, food, or even had a walker to be able to go to the bathroom the first evening. When she was admitted, the facility didn't have the correct medications on hand. I gave Valley View her prescriptions so that she wouldn't miss a dose. The facility did not give me a receipt and even left the meds unattended for about 5 minutes. There always seemed to be hiccups with the nursing staff. On many occasions, nurses came from staffing agencies and had difficulties understanding the patients' prescriptions. On more than one occasion, there were problems with the correct dosage (1 of three vials provided for breathing treatments, or a tablet not split into 2) being given or the rx being given at the wrong time (ie without food). Meals were generally ok, but at least 3 times they arrived without silverware, and many times, no condiments were given. In the beginning, meals arrived cold consistently, but towards the end of the stay, this issue was mostly resolved. Again, having an advocate on site who was able to track down missing silverware or condiments made a world of difference. Most CNAs were caring and responsive.
