What Families Think

Utopia Home Care has a mixed and very limited review record, with only three Google ratings ranging from a single 5‑star account of dedicated staff to two 1‑star accounts alleging serious neglect and inconsistent aide coverage. Families should weigh a strong personal endorsement of a team leader's responsiveness against reports of missed shifts and a safety incident.

The Good

  • One reviewer says supervisor called back within two hours
  • Team leader described as working harder than any agency
  • Staff described as professional, caring, and knowledgeable
  • Offers skilled nursing and full therapeutic services

The Bad

  • One report of a 2nd-degree burn from aide error
  • Multiple reports of aide no-shows without replacement
  • One account of a client left overnight without care
  • Overall Google rating is low at 2.3 out of 5

I started with Utopia at the beginning of this year. I am bedbound. I have 2 shifts per day, 7 days a week. I needed a lot of hours filled. They worked hard to find aides to staff my shifts! I have had a wonderful experience with UTOPIAS from the first day I called! I called on a Saturday. A supervisor called back in less than 2 hours to answer questions. NO other agencies returned my call until 1 to 3 days after I left a message to inquire about services! When aides could not be found or called out last minute and I was in real need of help then one of my managers actually came and took care of my needs!! I've NEVER had a home health care agency show that much dedication to patient care! It is truly a wonderful experience knowing you have an agency that REALLY cares and will go that extra mile for you when you need it! My team leader Elizabeth, has worked harder for me than ANY other person in ANY home health care agency I have seen. They're professional, caring, knowledgeable, and respond quickly and efficiently! THAT has been MY experience with UTOPIA Home Health Care! I highly recommend them. Despite the dire shortage of aides nation wide, they seem to work as a team to get the job done, no matter what it takes! Bravo!

Saying to a parent of a child/adult child with specific need of help from others, instead of themselves, that You Understand?? 😲 Nothing Changes. Then, Nothing Changes. While One may Think saying such a statement, to a Family You Don't Know, is nice? It's Not. It Truly States, Who Wrote Back to This Parent, is Not For to Serve Others who cannot help Themselves. Just the history of, ?? What, what was the name of That Place that said... ??

On behalf of my son, Mike: "Being paralyzed is hard. Being paralyzed and stood up by your home care provider or companion makes it harder. After eight months with Utopia, this is what I have experienced: 2nd degree burns in my groin (aid handed me, a quad, a scalding cup of coffee), repeated no-shows, no calls, and no replacements, aids that left in a wheelchair overnight (left to crawl across the floor on my final night of care from them as a parting gift). One aid that got "hurt" and then phoned with questions about possible side effects about some of my more specialized medications. An aid whose boyfriend would call and demand to speak to me to be sure she was there. An aid who would leave early or no-show so she could go to church."
