The gulf coast is our favorite "travel to" area so when we found AFRH, we were intrigued. Three tours and a whole lot of application paperwork later and we were approved this week. My wife and I both qualify and we are beyond excited. We cannot think of a better all inclusive place to spend the rest of our lives.

If you had a successful military career, you would be penalized at this facility. In other words, if you were a military professional and got promoted. You will pay more here than someone who did not do well in the military ranks and just retired after 20 years. Just so happens, one of the other residents here is someone I served with 40 years ago. I pay over twice as much for the same services, benefits as he does because he was not what you would call squared away.

I'm retired. Army living in Texas. My ex was a navy corpsman stationed at the old navel home. This new one built since the hurricane looks outstanding.

Don’t bother, I’ve been just trying to set up a tour for my 83 year old dad. I’ve left VM, and sent email request and never received a response. I called again, and was given two numbers as they can’t transfer calls at all!?! Called both, one was completely disconnected or out of order and the other a Rebecca picked up and couldn’t answer a question…forget it, I’m just trying to get info and a tour for a 28 year army veteran.

I just completed my second year as Resident in this Home. I am amazed at how fast these 24 months have passed by. I recommend this place highly to any eligible Veteran.
