Above and beyond excellent care…from the moment the decision was made to transition my mom from ICU to hospice care, Ramses at UniCare assessed the needs of our family, helped find a hospice bed at a private Assisted Living home close to our house and even picked me & my daughters up to site visit the Assisted Living home to make sure it was a good fit for my mom. Within hours we had a plan, a beautiful home for my mom to transition to straight from<br>ICU and a caring staff that would walk with us hand in hand thru the process of saying good bye to our loved one in a quiet, peaceful and caring facility surrounded by people who truly loved caring for my mom & made the transition peaceful for all of us. UniCare Hospice helped my family during one of our hardest times. Ramses and the nursing staff were knowledgeable, caring and very personable. They cared about my mom and how we as a family were doing.<br><br>Last year, we chose a different local hospice company for my Aunt Sallie…the comparison between that hospice staff and process /care vs UniCare is just night & day…UniCare far exceeded my expectations and made this difficult time so much more bearable…not only for my mom, but also for our family. When my mom was agitated in pain and needed her medication managed, the nurse was an instant phone call away and their priority of managing her pain was second to none. The peace of knowing they put her care first made me feel at ease.<br><br>Death is a natural part of life…but most of us don’t want to think about it or plan for it…we get to that door and realize we are ill prepared for the process for our loved ones…UniCare made me feel confident that we had her best care prioritized, they kept me informed of her progress and notified me after each evaluation. They prepared me & my family so we could say good bye. They even bathed her & dressed her prior to her being transferred to the funeral home…the extra level of care that we did not receive with the other hospice company we had for my aunt last year...the funeral director was even impressed with this small but caring detail.<br><br>Hospice choices are not on the top of everyone’s list or a priority to talk about usually…I was fortunate enough to have a family member in the medical field that recommended UniCare and Ramses for our hospice care needs for my mom. I thank god for that recommendation…I truly don’t think my family would of been able to weather this journey as well as we have if it weren’t for UniCare and the support & care we all received. I highly recommend UniCare and Ramses for your hospice needs in Yuma County.
