Stayed at my friend's here - a lovely 55+ community of houses scattered over an beautiful area with hills and trees and a golf course amongst the houses. Walking paths through the forest that joins to other trails, a large recreation building with a gym pool hot tub cafe club room areas and more always with things going on.

I tried to rent a space for a private event. Everything went well and we were about to pay, but then, when they understood that the event was a Passover dinner, they canceled it with no reasonable reason. Just saying.

This is a senior residential subdivisions. Each home is privately owned. 'Trilogy' is a mature adult community (age 55 & above). No young adults as permanent resident. There is a 'club house' area which is the hub of activities for this community - includes the mail/postal boxes, swimming pool, as well as billiard/pool game tables, exercise room with some equipment such as treadmills, stationery bikes, shower facilities, dinning lounge area, computers with free Internet/WiFi access, printer (cost per page printed B&W), indoor upper walking/running track. Additionally, their are fee for service activities, such as yoga classes, personal trainer, excursions, guest speaker presentations, etc., etc. The activities listing of choices & varieties are provided on a monthly basis - and a free community snacks/meal/dinner is provided, where all residents are encouraged to attend, so as to find out the upcoming activities. The is an updated/expanded commercial kitchen with a chef to have cooked meals available on order (as in a restaurant). There are plenty of parking spots for this club house area, but during these monthly informative events, then parking spots tend to run out very quickly. The staff do maintains the place very well, as the place is clean & neat. There is one TV (approx 50" only) so, it may not offer the choice programming, if you do not prefer sports channel. There are different home style & classification - a) single detached, b) duplex, c) Quad-plex. There is also some 'low income' homes in the subdivision also. There is a monthly 'Association fee'. The part that can be a 'double edge sword' issue, is that the 'Association' has a very strict bylaw on home maintenance (from paint color to front yard landscaping rules - meaning that your house's external paint color must meet the association's approval; your landscaping must be approved by the association, etc., which limit one's freedom), which also ensures no neighbor(s) can cause 'problem' that can devaluate your property value. The properties do not have big yards, which is good, as most are retired. The roads within the compound are all curvy & winding, with bends, and not straight. Although some say that it creates a better visual - I do not like winding roads, because it is more challenging to drive, because one can't see on coming car(s) - and especially, because this compound is for 'seniors', which are already potentially have challenges, due to age, and yet they'll have to negotiate winding roads with on coming cars... But all in all, the area is very peaceful & quiet. And because a big majority of the people there are retired, they tend to lookout for each other and help out each other. There is a 'common town hall center' for the mailboxes, and amenities including a swimming pool, a lounge, coffee shop, massage services, etc. (Cost extra, except the use of the pool & exercise room & exercise equipment.). There is a golf course in the compound (cost extra). There are nature trails for free use. OK, too-good-to-be-true - right? Well, I do find that there is this major issue of living in these so called '55 and above' type of community - sure there are no, kids' noise - but, because all are at the autumn stage of their lives, there can be fairly frequent reminders of the fact that 'Life is Short' - as one will be frequented with sad news of friends/neighbors (such as illness, hospitalizations, & deaths)... this issue needs to be in the calculation, if one is thinking of moving into this type of community!
