They are very shady people. I work with them but they manipulate my shifts and since I am a competitive and smart person, they limit my environment to thrive. Don't work here. However, very good at caring for their patients. Compassionate and attuned to the needs of the patients.

I interviewed with TLC Homecare for a caregiver position while also trying to secure care support for my mother, and the overall experience was frustrating due to ongoing miscommunication and delays. From March through May, communication was inconsistent and often unclear. I had to send multiple follow-ups over several weeks just to receive basic updates, and key details were not communicated upfront. There appeared to be internal miscommunication regarding onboarding status, pay expectations, and next steps, which made the process unnecessarily confusing—especially given the urgency of coordinating care for a family member. I was also informed that onboarding could not move forward until VA approval was completed, yet no clear or realistic timeline was provided, leaving both myself and my family in a prolonged state of uncertainty. After repeated attempts to clarify compensation, I was ultimately told the base pay is $20/hour, with limited flexibility above that. This is significantly below my current rate and below typical expectations in Alaska for caregivers with experience in behavioral health, dementia care, and trauma-informed support. While staff were polite when they did respond.....Eventually... the lack of transparency, communication, and timely follow-through made it difficult to move forward. I would strongly encourage future applicants and families to get clear answers about pay, onboarding timelines, and VA status at the very beginning.

TLC was essential in keeping my mom in her house for an extra 18 months. Mistie was extremely dedicated in making sure caregivers were available when they were needed. I highly recommend TLC. Caregiving is a challenging occupation and one that our community and country undervalues. Thank goodness we TLC in our community.
